Just so no one misinterprets my rhetorical answer above, it's meant as a lament of the Houston scene. In my observation Houston is all about energy trading but I find it's very hard to get into unless you have impeccable credentials or know someone in the business.
Yeah, energy trading is nearly impossible to break into. It's all about connections and networking. I know a few guys who have PhDs in quant trading (whatever they're called at the respective schools) and they can't even get in.
