prop firm for trend/swing trader

  1. Community,

Looking for recommendations for prop firms that "cater" to trend/swing traders in the NYC, NJ, or CT area. Is there such a niche ?

In other words, swing/trend trading goes counter"trend" to day-trading for most prop firms since

    1) Prop firms, in general, don't like traders taking overnight positions because that increases risk on the firm's capital
    2) Trend/swing trading don't generate enough trades usually.

I hope my above assumptions are correct. In my view, there is nothing wrong with the above "restrictions" as prop firms are in the business of making money and "mitigating" risk. Therefore, it seems like short-term trend/swing trade doesn't fit prop firms' realm of operation.

  2. Firms likely won't talk to you if you even mention it. Overnight trading tends to scare them away. Institutional trading, that's another story - there you would find people with similar goals...

why don't you try that route.
