I went to the gym earlier today too. Market lunchtime) I looked over at the smith racks - where I have to do squats.
Was a bit thankful I twisted my knee about a month ago... and did not have to do my squats.

I still have a bit of water on my knee for the first time in my life.
While I am starting to do leg activities I am not doing squats... yet.

Unfortunately for me my legs like to lose 5 times faster than they gain...
So a year of hiking everyday and good deal of snowboarding are gone.

Your work isn't really gone, more like dormant. If you had it, you can get it back fairly fast.

This probably stops the spread of COVID.

I wish I could stop my right knee from "clicking" when I walk.

I keep hearing this is because I need to stretch more, but I've not found the stretch that gets rid of it.

There might be something to the stretching, but my approach would be to add strength to the smaller muscles in the leg to slightly change the angles of the bones coming into the knee. I found exercises for such in the video below. I know it can possibly work for you, since I unintentionally got rid of an occasional click in an ankle by doing corrective leg exercises to prevent injury during deadlifts. This video is for "knock knees", but it does in theory change that angle.

Been doing these excellent exercises since I began Rowing at 15 years old...extremely useful for people that continue rowing into their 50's...to protect the knees and to minimize the lactic acid build up in the thighs in a typical 2 kilometer race / training session.

I also didn't realize how useful it was to strengthen the knees in preparing for carrying heavy gear on the back for winter hiking / camping.

Absolutely. Knees and core are the "forgotten" secret to heavy packing.

Side note, I do wish I had used hiking poles when I was in my teens and twenties. They extend your range significantly. But they weren't "in" in those days. I didn't injure my knees, but I feel a lot better after hiking with poles than I do without them.

    What!?

I somewhat agree with Trevor Noah?

What in the hell is going on!?

    I am confused.

This may simply be a liberal whose paycheck is still being compromised by bad govt.

My kids would say... this is sus. (Noah telling the Truth that is)

His mistake is limiting his thinking to two variables, vaccination and masks, so he sees the problem as one of contradiction. He ignores the environmental factor of herd immunity, which resolves the contradiction.
