Prominent ICU Doctor: H1N1 influenza "most frightening thing I've seen in my career"

  1. "The WHO currenlty puts the fraction of patients who need intensive care as a result of direct lung infection as high as 15%. Should the same prove true in the U.S. as the new wave of flu strikes this fall, it could put a strain on medical facilities."
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This statement from WHO is NOT saying 15% of all the swine flu case have severe lung infection.

What it is saying? It is saying of ALL swine flu, SOME go to hospital. Of that people who go to hospital, only SOME go to intensive care. Of that "fraction of patients" who go to intensive care there is 15% with severe lung infection. And of that 15% with severe lung infection most recover.

  2. That New World Order crowd is all about PUBLIC JOB PRESERVATION.

The will exploit any opportunity as a diversion to meet that end.

In the UK for instance, the FLU helps divert attention from those boys and girls in power who allowed Qadaffi to play them like a cheap fiddle and get a mass murderer released in order that the murderer be given a hero's welcome.

This flu virus is small potatoes to the virus that has infected our world economic order.

  4. My personal experience. I took my 13 year old son to the urgent care last night because he was running a 104.1 fever. He had a dry cough over the last 2 days and his fever was increasing.

They did a test and determined he has influenza type a, which could be swine, avarian or some other type of flu. She stated they do not test for what strain of flu it is unless they are exhibting severe symptoms that require hospitalization. She stated that there are so many flu results happening now that they just don't have the time to test each one for what strain it is.

The nurse there stated that they are seeing a significant increase in the flu and this is much earlier than in previous years. It is affecting many children. The doctor said he is contagious for up to 1 week and needs to stay home this entire week.

This is important what she said next. She will not give the antivirals to my son or family members because they have provided very little benefit for patients.

Aside from the high fever his symptoms have been relatively mild.

Yeah, just imagine the worst thing that could possibly happen, stop all intelligent action due to fear, go hide under your bed and let the wrecking crew roll over you.

  6. World Health Organisation (WHO) has given a warning for extreme form of H1N1 influenza. I could not find the website link for this article which appeared 7 or 10 days back. If I find it, I will post the link here.

  8. When you look at the number of deaths to the monies being allocated for vaccines etc the billions could be spent on more beneficial medical needs.

Dont forget the initial scaremongering BS and it still continues

    BBC Swine flu: Your experiences

    SATURDAY, 25 APRIL, MEXICO

I'm a specialist doctor in respiratory diseases and intensive care at the Mexican National Institute of Health. There is a severe emergency over the swine flu here. More and more patients are being admitted to the intensive care unit. Despite the heroic efforts of all staff (doctors, nurses, specialists, etc) patients continue to inevitably die. The truth is that anti-viral treatments and vaccines are not expected to have any effect, even at high doses. It is a great fear among the staff. The infection risk is very high among the doctors and health staff.

There is a sense of chaos in the other hospitals and we do not know what to do. Staff are starting to leave and many are opting to retire or apply for holidays. The truth is that mortality is even higher than what is being reported by the authorities, at least in the hospital where I work it. It is killing three to four patients daily, and it has been going on for more than three weeks. It is a shame and there is great fear here. Increasingly younger patients aged 20 to 30 years are dying before our helpless eyes and there is great sadness among health professionals here.
    Antonio Chavez, Mexico City

I work as a resident doctor in one of the biggest hospitals in Mexico City and sadly, the situation is far from "under control". As a doctor, I realise that the media does not report the truth. Authorities distributed vaccines among all the medical personnel with no results, because two of my partners who worked in this hospital (interns) were killed by this new virus in less than six days even though they were vaccinated as all of us were. The official number of deaths is 20, nevertheless, the true number of victims are more than 200. I understand that we must avoid to panic, but telling the truth it might be better now to prevent and avoid more deaths.

I'm a doctor responsible for managing vaccines in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

Over the last two weeks we started seeing patients with high fever, muscle aches, sore throats and coughs. Those symptoms seemed a bit odd for us, but we didn't diagnose them with swine flu as we didn't know about it.

On Sunday we had our first death in the area. It was someone who came from Mexico City. But we don't have the means to confirm whether it was as a result of swine flu.
We need to have the means to diagnose people and, most importantly, the means to offer them treatment
Dr Vicente Torres, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

More than anything, we lack equipment and laboratory kits. All we can do is look at the symptoms and make a clinical diagnosis.

In the pharmacies, there is no Tamiflu available. They only have another medication and they don't even have enough of that.

So the vaccines we have are not enough we don't have the medication required. People here are not aware that this flu outbreak can kill people.

On behalf of all the medical community in Nuevo Leon I'd like to ask for help to get the medication, so we can treat people.

We need to have the means to diagnose people and, most importantly, the means to offer them treatment.

  9. Millions huh? Did you know statistically 100 million people die every year in this world? thats about 273,000 people per day that die.

In the US alone 500k people die every year from everything from old age to car accidents to Infant death syndrome. Thats about 13k per day.

I'm really not worried if this year 102 million people die instead of 100 million. (and that extra 2 million is like a worst case scenario.) We all die, no point in living in fear about it. You aint going to stop death.

  10. World population is 7 billion or 7000 million. So 100 million deaths is just 1.5 % of world population.

Also how many people are born every year?. I think it must be 100 million or more.
