Heh, it's a matter of taste, you don't have to like everything. Like say, ginger beer, some people love it. I had one last night and nearly puked, no matter how many straight pilsner I had afterwards I couldn't shake the taste off. @Baron : I liked "Eternal Now" better than the Armin Van Buuren track. Might be part "anchor effect", getting anchored to the music line I hear first so when subsequent one is significantly different, the brain filters it out.
Yep. Those two songs were on different ends of the spectrum. My wife and I both DJ progressive house for our friends all the time, so we have a range of tunes that we mix in an out of so everything doesn't feel overly repetitive. This one is a banger for sure:
@Baron : while listening to my house records I stumbled upon one that triggered more dopamine than usual so I tried Shazam on it and sure enough it found it: It's Italian house DJs from 2000s so it makes sense I heard it here (in Europe that is) around that time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De-Javu What I wonder is if it crossed the Atlantic Does the song ring a bell to you too?
This is the confirmation I was hoping for. It confirms that the "spice trade" is still a thing. When you define "spice" as "a particular flavor of things enjoyed by an isolated culture or society" then it becomes apparent that when you scale said society to the around 10 billion humans alive today, a solid percent of them will enjoy that particular flavor and want more of the 'spice'. Willing to pay for it that is. And that's how fortunes are made. All this allegoric talk is not purely allegoric. I have something very specific in mind. Since "Dune: Part Two" is rolling in theaters now, I'll call it 'The Spice'
@Baron Sorry for abusing but how about these two? Do they ring a bell, remember hearing them in the US? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Instructor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Steps
Oh yeah, those made it over here for sure. In fact, one of my buddies (Eros) remixed that Super Sonic song and it became quite the hit over here...
