  1. Only true if he's using an ATS himself - which he hasn't mentioned.

In any case, an ergodic with such a long period needs a great deal of data to stabilize, and differences in the start date of the chart will make a big difference in the appearance. Also, CVB bars vary a good deal depending on data provider, etc.

My NT chart looks very close, and where it's different I can see price data differences to account for it. I still find the price action much more convincing than the indicator, though.

That's a fair and intelligent response.

Proflogic has been kind enough to show his work and he has written his rules in a very objective way. In my opinion, objective enough for someone to be able to program a computer to enter and exit, backtest, etc.

I'm more interested in the possible variations that come from adding to trades that are working, etc, etc. But before I do that, I have to program exactly the first point that gets me in a position and the last point that mark a definite exit. That's why I'm so insistent on the precision, because I have to tell a computer exactly what to do, else it'll do something else.

I also have to convince myself that I'm looking at a positive edge method, and so far I don't even have the same chart that is supposed to have an edge, with the established rules.

    Thanks.

How do you propose to get it to work if you do not want to understand the mechanics of it?

The Ergodic Indicator is NOT a Red Light/Green Light system.

I'm sure if you reread my post that you quoted and really understand english, you will inmediately delete your response and realize that you don't make any sense whatsoever.

You can delete this one as well, if you wish.

Every trade that one makes is a green light/ red light. You either buy or sell or do nothing.

  5. Easy JW . . . I'll help you with this tomorrow. I'm nose deep in data right now.

  6. Hi Bill,
Do you know of anyone using your methodology that has programmed the labels for Amibroker, bud? It would be nice to talk to some guys using AB and your method.
I'm glad this thread got started, I miss the old chatroom because it helped me see how others used your approach. Plus it gave me a chance to torment you...lol. Take care, bud.

  7. Hey Buddy, I hope you are feeling better.
I'm still waiting on someone to come out of the woodworkwith the AmiBroker code but no luck yet.
And by the way . . . YOU can torment me at will . . . as long as I can stick my pole in the water up there in the Great White North this Spring.

  8. I never have to be coerced too much to go trout fishing....lol. Please keep me in mind if you run across someone with the Amibroker coding, bud. If push comes to shove I will return to Ensign but I really do like Amibroker plus I don't have the monthly fees except for DTN. Thanks as always Bill, talk at you soon bud.
