Did I hear that right? Is Don offering free cocktails? I may attend either way as there are plenty of places in the area to quench my thirst, especially with the $50 Et discount to ease the blow. Why couldn't it have been during the week? Right now, I'm literelly board stiff and haven't done anything in a month. The trading coachs interest me to see how to even out my returns and the pairs trading.
I think too many people are trading during the week. The "presenters" are included in this, and as they are successful in the market, why would they want to miss out on another day in it?
Today is a bad example to say I'm board stiff, but other than that who hasn't taken a couple of days off from trading in the last month?
When I read "Market Wizards" I remember reading about one trader who would go in to work every single day of the year, but the opportunity for his setup only occurred 1-3 times a year. When it did, he made six figures on it. Think how bad he'd feel if he decided to take a day off and that was the day!
I'll give you that one, it would suck to miss the 1 day of the year to make your trade. But, it's also true he isn't put stress on himself day in and day out, or maybe Bright trading has a special volume threshhold where open heart surgery is included also. Enough of that since today was interesting for me and while I do trade more than 1-3 times a year, today was the first day in a month I actually saw some action that I liked, so no days off for the rest of the week. About the speakers, do they give a depth of information where I could actually take notes and use or will I have just paid $49 for the privledge of spending $499 on a set of tapes and books. I'll spend $30 on an interesting book or a lot more on useful software(which I've been hesitant to do but would like to see some demonstrations of some stuff), but I'm more interested in new idea and plans on attacking them. For instance, pairs trading is something I've kind of done through my options trading, buying and selling vols on different stocks in the same sector or even just leaning long and short in my deltas in these these stocks. Will they go into any more depth than what I already know, like maybe how to identify better pairs to trade maybe? I realize there maybe some beginners there too, but I don't won't to be bored out of my skull while they spend most of the time explaning exactly what pairs trading is.
I guess if one is to reduce the risk of missing his 1-3 times a year setup by taking a day off from the market, he could format only those particular setup parameters on his "black box" to trade IF THE BIG opportunity arose while he was out...... But, it seem you'd STILL want to be there to monitor the "box" to confirm that it executed as planned if the BIG setup actually occurred....
I honestly feel that you'll walk away after 2 days with a wealth of information that will help you. PairCo themselves will make themselves available to discuss whatever you like. Heck, $49 with drawings for free stuff, you can't go wrong. Hope to see you there!! Don
Hello ladies and gentleman to this forum, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce my self as I will be one of the presenters at the Professional Traders Tour upcoming in Anaheim. My name is darren Clifford and I represent PairCo. We are an information service provider for people trading pairs and risk arbitrage. I will be presenting in Anaheim on why people are hedging trades using pairs and what you can do to add this trading strategy to your toolbox. This presentation will be beneficial to both active and passive traders. My hope is to spend a limited amount of time on what hedged trading is and why people are doing it in todays market, and primarily focus on how you can implement pair trading with different strategies. This will involve an in depth look at capital management, business plans and the different types of risk you will face. The information we provide on pairs covers everything from percentage of daily range to 3000 day historical charts. We have a weekly news letter that is ideal for new and experienced pair traders alike. If you check our website there is also a free daily chat room for pair traders. Besides offering information on pair trading we also offer automated trading strategies for professional traders. We have automated everything from pair trading, opening only orders, baskets, to enveloping the market. I would be happy to answer any preliminary questions within this thread. Thank you, Darren Clifford PS. For full disclosure I am also a professional trader with Bright Trading. Last month I netted around $15,000 and I am up approximately the same so far this month. Most of my profits are made through pair trading.
If you are going to go as far as posting last month's 15K plus this month, why not give us the rolling 12 month which featured band breakers like FNM/FRE, HD/LOW. After all, ET traders wouldn't want to be "Fooled by randomness by Taleb". If you can show a more robust sample set, I've no doubt you will attract more aspiring traders to your service by at least a factor of 3! Ball is in your court.
