Yes I edited your post. But I am interested in reading more about your experiences with the presenters. Please be specific, and substantiate your claims with facts. I mean essentially you are saying that the presenters are full of BS. So either they are... or you are. And I don't want to waste my money if it's them, when I can believe you for free. Thanks in advance!
That's a curious statement. What does "SLK/Goldman" mean? Does Goldman have anything to do with SLK apart from owning them?
Time to dive in. It seems that there may be a couple of over zealous fans out there....but basically, David Nassar and I decided to take the place of the Online Trading Expo that was being held in Anaheim (not nearly as big or as expensive for the presenters). We decided to have good, solid, people from the industry all have short speaking times, with plenty of time to talk to people at their respective booths. Why pay $500 for David, or even $299 for me, and have to choose who you want to see speak? This way you can see and hear a good group of people all for $49 and get a free 1 year subscription to Stock and Commodities (so you're even). We have equity and Futures people there, automated programmers, black box guy (who, btw, was VP at SLK when they were bought by GS.......got a "Golden Parachute"). We'll have a "traders lounge" with couches, so you can sit next to successful traders and chat about what's working and what's not. Of all the things to "nay say" about....this seems way down at the bottom of the list. I partnered with a friend who does the Money Watch Expo's and did the Financial Fests for years to make sure it comes of looking good. We don't expect a giant turnout, which is better for you guys. We'll have a luncheon panel where you can ask all the questions you like, even the "nasty ones" ......this whole thing is going to cost me money anyway, so I hope we can at least have some fun and share some trading ideas. www.investoraware.com I'm heading down there today to get things set up.....but call the number on the website to sign up....see you there. Don
At $49 per ticket, I doubt I can pick you up....you can't even see Wayne Newton in Vegas for that lol I might be persuaded out of a free t shirt for you guys..... Don
Just so Bob Bright, David Nassar, et al - EVEN nitro - don't ask me the same thing when I show up at the Professional Trading Tour at 8AM this Saturday: I have no agenda and not a thing to sell.... Just ready to take the opportunity to talk FACE to FACE with top traders who rarely/never share their insights and techniques on on chat sites - even an excellent site like the one right here - ET. Hey, I might even look up DON Bright, too.....
Michael Markowski, from Stock Diagnostics.com is coming down to speak and share his wisdom. You can read a bit about him at: www.forbes.com (click on his site for more info....sounds impressive, I think I'll listen in! (Only 3 more days of "plugging the show" ....hang in there....... Don
Well, I cannot speak for anybody else. But here is my reason-detre for going. Last time I attended the Bright dog and pony show in Vegas, I had already seen most of what was discussed. I went for two reasons: 1) I wanted to see what other traders were trading to get a feel for new ideas for a future course of action 2) I wanted to see how the "old" strategies that had been taught at the first Bright class had changed. From this I could see how Bright traders were evolving their core strategies 3) I solodified my understanding of Opening Only strategies, both from watching Don, and from watching Earl trade them. 4) A totally unexpected surprise. I have known for a long time that there is NOTHING like being face to face with a Grandmaster in any endeavor. Bob Bright decided that he was going to offer some insights into trading. He talked alot about different things, but eventually, he talked about a particular stock and the way he traded it (and this stock was an example of some facts that were stated in the general session - REITS.) When I got home, I immidiately put this ticker up on my montage. I watched it carefully, and even did some small pair trades (also came home with more confidence on how to find correlated stocks for pairs.) To make a long story short, this small nudge that Bob gave me in this direction has paid for all the Bright classes 7 times over, and I do not expect that it will stop making me money any time soon. IMHO, at the risk of being cliche-ish, you will get out of it what you bring to it. I did not expect the world from the Brights (in fact I expected NOTHING,) but I ALWAYS tried to read between the lines of what they were saying. I cannot stress this enough when you go and listen to any trader worth his salt, ecause although I do not believe any trader will reveal DIRECTLY what they do, I got the feeling that the Brigths genuinely wanted to give people something for their money. You just had to LISTEN. This time, it sounds like there are going to be new terrific traders to exchange ideas with! nitro
Exactly why a lot of other traders also will be making it to Anaheim for the Tour - meeting with and listening to some of the Best - all in an atmosphere conducive for a serious exchange of ideas. Way too much HOW-TO information to miss out on.
Actually, at the ET member price, the Tour IS free since a one year subscription to TASC is $49.95...and you also receive a free issue at the admission! So, go for it!
