I have heard some pretty bad things about TransAct. a few friends of mine have had bad experiences there. In particular, I've heard the dumb software they have never calculates PnL accurately. Also, Overall there seems to be some pretty bad vibes coming from the brokers there. While I'm not a big fan of superstition, I do believe that if your brokers are constantly sending off bad auras, then this manifests as an obstacle in itself. Of course this is info I got from personal friends of mine who, no matter what, could not make money while trading there. They moved to the more professional software platform, X_TRADER, and now trade with MacFutures; they are much happier where they are right now. Somehow they are finding themselves consistently profitable now trading the same markets they were trading before: YM and ES. They've been there for over three months now too. The only thing they bitch about now is commissions. In fact, my buddy is seriously looking into becoming a member of one of the exchanges and doing business with TT directly rather than going through a broker. Higher commissions suck but I think the consistent profitability makes up for it 100 fold in the end. That said, my friend admits that she isn't sure if it was the broker, TransAct, or if it was her that was responsible for the inability to make money; she just says that she is making money consistently now, consistently building account equity, and that was something she found impossible to do at TransAct. Take that for what it is worth

What a crock of absolute shit! The Transact AT platform is very reliable, and shows an accurate PnL balance. For two years now, I have received outstanding service too....!

I'm still on the old platform, and all I do is right click where I want the stop portion of the stp/lim order and it takes my preset limit amount and the order is in as quick as all my other orders. I don't type in anything.

    Hello,
First of all sorry for my bad English, it is not my native language. I thought that choosing a broker would be an easiest part of this business but on this forum I have found out that there is a lot of thing of which I have no idea. Like there is some PATS system which is slower than others etc. I did quite a research on this forum before I’ve decided to ask for advice. I’m choosing a broker and I’ve been suggested to Infinity because they are using TransAct not PATS system and they are offering Sierra charts. Now my questions.

    1. could anybody be so kind and explain me what is difference between TransAct – Infinity – Pro Active futures? I know those are 3 different companies but Inf and PA offer same platform and charting software which is providing through TA, am I right?

    2. there was quite a problem with reliability of data feed from TA. Did they solve this problem? Have you trade with them let’s say for past 6month without any problem?

Lot of people advice me trading with TA or Infinity but since I am a novice I do not want to solve any issue like lost data feed. I’d like to focus on my trade and not to be “disturb”, at the beginning, with any problem. I realize that one day I will meet this problem, as time will go I will probably change my broker (hopefully not).
So could you give me advice from whom to choose – Trans Act, Infinity, Pro Active

I trade 60 – 150 contract per month, ER2, starting capital 5-6k and don’t call me a piker :) and like using Sierra chart.

thank you very much in advance

Best regards from snowy Czech Republic

Your english is much better than my Czech. Transact from Pro Active is going to be the same as Infinity, both are just IB's salespeople for Transact Clearing, that's all. The TransAct is dome is good, but it doesn't support stop limit orders, which is a problem for me. I will only use it as a back up from Pro Active. In case of problems make sure you have the trade desk from TransAct, don't both calling the IB. Go with who has the best commission. I believe Infinity has had some problem with the NFA. One last thing. Consider looking Ninja Trader with the Zen Fire data feed or TT data feed. Also X Trader basic from Velocity is affordable, as long as you don't need bracket order or trailing stops.

  5. I am not arguing with you, but it doesn't work on the demo and Pro Active said it doesn't work at all, period. The stop limit that is.

    Dobre odpoledne :)
I wouldn't believe somebody could say hello in czech here. Where did you learn it? Anyway, thank you for info. I will try to contact both (PA, Infi) and I'll see. I know that Infinty have been fined 20k a few days ago but for reason which is not important to me. For some promotional material.

You said "In case of problems make sure you have the trade desk from TransAct, don't both calling the IB" - what did you mean? what is trade desk? a platform or direct number to TA?

    hodne stesti i tobe :)

I wasn't arguing either, just not sure why their platform would be different. In demo mode maybe for whatever reason, but not the live platform. Maybe ask again, possibly they misunderstood. My stp/lim go to the exchange for all CME products.

  9. It's funny, but not more than 20 minutes ago my friend/mentor told me they now support SL on TransAct. Maybe I will have to give this a closer look again. Good trading to everyone.

  10. - In which scenario would you suggest to use X_Trader basic from Velocity since their commissions structure (with no monthly fees) is higher than comparable brokers that offers TT under the so-called 'transactional model'?
