I told them it was a bad idea to hire Edward Scissorhands to be in charge of wiring in their server room. But no, they didn't listen to me..... Seriously though, this means we should assume native orders will execute, but simulated orders (such as stop losses on GLOBEX) will not execute.
I suppose all simulated orders, including non-native stops, do not work in such cases? It may an expensive lesson to some, but a necessary one for long-term survival, if it encourages fail-safe risk control practices, such as ridiculously short-lived GTD opening orders, static hedging, and possibly even market neutrality by construction ... all good ideas by themselves... 0s
