problems with esignal again

  1. How about this for missing intraday data?? After the market opens, any tickers that I didn't view before the market opened don't show intraday bars.

Thank you for the postings. We are aware of a few issues and are actively working to resolve each one as quickly as possible.

At least one issue was created when we recently rolled out new software changes to our tick servers. While those changes fixed several known issues, we apparently created at least one new one. By the screenshots posted here, I can not readily determine if these problems are being caused by the recent tick server changes or not.

To help us track down individual user problems, please contact Technical Support as soon as possible when you first see the problem. We can quickly compare what we're seeing and determine which server(s) you are connected to. We also need to determine what version you are using, how your chart is set-up, etc.

All customers are free to contact our offices in either London or California. http://www.esignal.com/support/All_Products/all_contact.asp

The new tick server problem we are aware of is created by a combination of certain chart start/stop times and by the length of the interval requested. One example: If you have a chart set-up to begin at 5:20, 1 min or 5 min bars will work just fine. 30 min or 60 min bars however, will not display correctly. If you move the start time back to 5:00, all the standard intervals will work just fine.

If you are using our Standard Charting, the data will just not display until you adjust the interval or start time. In the Advanced Charting, the time labels may appear out of order ( 6:30, 7:30, 7, 8, etc.)

We have already written the new code to resolve this problem and will be extensively testing this new version for at least a week. It then takes another week to roll-out to all servers. So, if the testing is successful, we should have the new software rolled-out to all farms by the end of the month.

We are also very close to releasing a new maintenance version for 7.0. This version will solve a couple other un-related issues and introduce several new requested features. Once the software is available to download, we'll post an announcement here and on our Site under Service Bulletins.

If you need further assistance, please contact one of our Service and Support centers. Thank you for your continued patience.

    Thanks,

  4. Don't know if this truly is a bug, but NQ #F didn't roll to the september contract until sometime in the middle of the trading day. ES #F rolled to the september contract at the beginning of the day, which is what I would expect.

Having a 6 pt NQ jump in the middle of trading can be very unsettling!

Our error on NQ today. The program to automatically roll that continuous contract failed overnight, while the other key contracts rolled OK. We are investigating why it failed to insure it works correctly next quarter. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thanks,

  6. Yeah, especially when you're short! For a moment there I though bin Laden had been found at room temperature in a cave somewhere.
