Did as you said. Still doesn't work. Worked fine till yesterday and suddenly have problems. Something changed on QT's end? Any other suggestions?
check which version is shown on HELP/About Quotetracker menu. If it does not say 3.9.8a, then you did not apply the patch correctly
3.9.8 - means you do not have the update applied. Try again - make sure the STOCKS.EXE file gets copied. As for WebUpdate, its not supposed to work. the patch disabled it intentionally a while back.. TDA doesn't update anything anyway, and they did stuff like remove some sites (OptionsXpress) via that mechanism
make sure QT is not running when you are doing the copying. What exactly happens when you try to copy STOCKS.EXE from the temp folder to the QuoteTracker folder? What error or other prompt do you get? Are you logged into Windows with an Admin account? What version of Windows?
