problem with IB simulation account

  1. I am using webtrader simulation account and I plan to close a position but it does not go through. It is a market order and it is just sitting there. I cancelled it and reentered it a couple of times but still the same. The stock is AMZN.
  2. Happens regularly on the simulator, will happen in real time too. Except in real time you can ring the trading desk and have it closed manually.

    All part of the "learning process".

    FYI this may not be due to IB, your communication link may be broken (there are many servers between you and IB, just do a tracert to find out how many "hops" there are) and in fact it is a small miracle that the internet works as reliable as it does.

    It will reset itself with the overnight reset, do not worry about it.

  3. The wrong exchange could be selected in:

    Create Order / Exchange

    If you can't close futures always double check the exchange selection, this has happened to me a couple of times.
