at this point I wouldn't be surprised about anything. You'd be surprised how much a guy can lose thinking he's probably doing the right thing. I like trading, but they don't need to throw me a "Surprise Party" everyday. I would have been better off if the broker just took all my money and locked it up. Then I would be dealing with the SEC instead of the market.
The Ontario Securities Commission has a simple online form to file a complaint, check it out: http://www.osc.gov.on.ca/documents/en/Investors/frm_20100818_complaint_en.pdf Their site even gives you the contact info for filing a small claims dispute: Small Claims Court Up to $25,000 You can choose to have legal representation but it is not required Generally faster and less formal than the Superior Court of Justice Decisions are binding but may be appealed See the blue pages in your local telephone directory or contact The Ministry of the Attorney General Tel: (416) 326-2220 Website: www.attorneygeneral.jus.gov.on.ca There are options besides civil court. Like the op stated, the only ones who come out ahead in civil court are the attorneys. Take the least cost route, and hopefully others will follow your lead and file their own complaints. It was ONLY through a group effort that created enough of a stir that resulted in a bunch of us to recover our funds from Team Trading. Remember, the owners at Globus are probably counting on the fact that most will simply do nothing.
If they give me my funds back I'm ok. It's not a crusade, just want what belongs to me and I let it rest. But if they keep on acting like thieves I'll keep on trying. Maybe give them at least a little headache, although people like them with no scruples don't care.
It's not so much about them minding getting "badmouthed" here, It's about letting others know about their scam and getting advice on how to proceed. I'm aware the odds of getting my funds back are slim to none, after all we trade, it's all about the odds.
thatâs part of the point of the thread, to make aware potential new client what they're getting into. like I mentioned at the beginning, they give good service till you want your funds back, then they cut you off.
Exactly, and I've gotten a couple of responses of people going through the same thing I am. So I'm not the only one. That's why i mentioned it was a mini-madoff scam. Globus owners living by scaming their clients.
Right, creating the awareness has value. I didn't know about Elite Trader before sending funds to an unregistered firm. I and many others have later said "had I read the posts, I would not have sent in my risk deposit..." It's the unregistered firms giving this industry a black eye. There are many solid firms in this business, everyone is not a scammer.
well, it may not be a crusade for you, but it's a crusade for us. We want to see these guys nailed to the wall. I want them beaten in public with their wives and children watching, so they will know the kind of despicable sperm they have been infected with. And that is why, even though I am a good man, god does not allow me to have his powers.

yeah, I suppose, if you like living close to other people, that's not really how we do it here in Indiana, those kind of neighborhoods are just for dumbshits that can't figure out how the deal works.
