You cannot prove it because they don’t want it to be proven. But you can point this discussion and show them that more people have such problems. I do too.
Try to increase your memory allocation to TWS using global configuration. That helped me a lot. I allocated 8GB when default is < 1GB
Hundreds of posters complain about IB in this ET forum. The more you complain, the angrier you will get. The angrier you are, the more money you lose from trading. I gave up complaining about IB and also many other brokers years ago. Start to open multiple trading accounts, multiple trading platforms, multiple charting software.
With 8GB allocated, does TWS ram usage ever get close to that? I have 3GB allocated (System 20GB) and TWS (979.4f) never uses more than 1.5-1.6GB RAM even if it's been loaded for 7 hours. I notice charts never move to the same frequency as the bid/ask changes. The charts' price is stagnant for seconds at a time (depending on the instrument) while the bid/ask constantly moves. As a result, the candle falls behind and then it catches-up to the vicinity of the bid/ask in one large jerk. I also notice at times, the the most recent (5min) candle is not even drawing yet and then catches up. Also, the candle color takes forever to change (ex: it's red when it should be green). Is what I describe normal for TWS? I don't think allocating more ram will fix it. My processor and RAM never go over 19% in the TaskMgr and that's with a browser and other minor apps running along with TWS.
