Thanks Jeff, you are absolutely right...the 5 day programs are a 2 way "screening mechanism" to be sure that the firm and the trader have a "fit" as it were...and for the trader to get past all the BS that is out there regarding trading for a living. The multiple months "boot camp" allows for week in and week out continuing training and access to the best traders in the U.S. This has been working well for a couple of years now, and certainly speeds up the "learning curve." It reminds me of the "training by fire" that my brother and I experienced when we spent our first few months on the exchange trading floors. By speeding up new (and experienced) traders ability to get up to speed, get current, see some success....from a year or more down to a couple of months, we can save the trader an amazing amount of money and heart ache. If you have any candidates that might liike to benefit from this "total immersion" training plan...please let me know...I would be glad to incorporate some of your basic ideas into the plan for your people. Don
Bright's (Don mostly) boot camp is immearsurably valuable. I would have saved many thousands of dollars if I had attended this when 1st offered around 2 years ago. But no, I was arrogant (trading successfully then), I was too smart to be a 'newby' or 'beginner' and I still had plenty of money to lose!! Flatten ALL your positions, suck it up, go to boot camp (Bright's is probably as good as any other), shovel the shit, take the hits, eke out a small (safe) living and learn to be a true 'professional trader' (not just an idiot with a Series-7, like me) and start making a living while preparing to build a fortune over time. I just hope I haven't waited too long for this. . . . .
Training is invaluable. Perhaps the hardest step in that process is telling yourself (and actually BELIEVING) that you don't know as much about trading as you think, and that you have immense ability to do your trading account and your trading psyche harm. Whatever path you choose, select one that truly forces analysis and development of your trading psychology.
