Prison system a costly, harmful failure:

  1. "All it really takes is one Christ to get the job done."

I thought perhaps one might appear in the wake of 911. I do not see this conflict (global terror) resolving on group think. The worlds greatest minds have the opportunity. Sometimes I wonder if the internet via world communication will solve the problem.

  2. Thats ludicrous, why after? Before would make a lot of sense, but after, not so much.
Of course, the father of dialogue and reason, may agree with the sentiment of your last sentence-if he werent forced to drink poison for pointing out dialogue is important, and that peoples free, rational thought was the very cornerstone of civilisation and humanity.

There was a bit of a race war going on, the Jena 6 made the mistake of taking it personal and really beating the krap out of somebody, never a good move. Politicians like Hillary are telling black US citizens that resent, protest, violence, lawlessness, etc. is going to get them something. Resent is the poison that a person takes in the hope it will harm their enemy, protest always backfires and violence is known to not work.... no wonder the Democrats can't get on Fox News and field a few hardballs.....

  4. some world's great minds have no ruling power, and most rulers are idiots, and yet even if rulers did have the mind to change things for the better, they wouldn't, why should they?, why should anyone care for the future of humanity?, majority of humans are some molded shit walking, talking and shitting on this planet, their existence is a failure from the start, they merely exist to work, earn, live, and then pass their wealth to their government through taxes and by their death

about the internet solving world problems, I must say; haha, no really [IMG], internet is over 60% porn, 30% music, 9% some other form of entertainment, remaining mostly disinformation and some maybe useful but not problem solving

  5. Perhaps we should open all the prisons and let everyone free?

The reality is, that most prisoners are repeat offenders. Perhaps it wouldn't seem so costly, if it was the opinion holders sister who was raped, and the offender was let go without punishment...

  6. Supppose you are an average honest Joe. You don't steal. Oh maybe as a kid you stole a piece of candy, or bought a stolen radio at one time, but over all you just realized that stealing as a way of life was not for you. Not even a part time way of life. Maybe you made a few "illegal" copies at work or took a pack of pencils, small stuff.

What would it take for me or anyone to convice you that "honesty" is not the proper conduct and lifestyle. I probably couldn't convince you to steal. My arguements are like a foreign language to you. My lifestyle is like that of foreign country. You'd tell me I was crazy.

So it goes with rehab. Just as we may take some paper clips from the office, we'll have some small successes at rehab in making the criminal honest. We'll assume small victories. Overall, stealing is the only lifestyle they know same as honesty is the only lifestyle we know.

  7. Prison systems are no where near perfect or even correct, first off you would think the majority of real criminals are in prison, usually only repeat offenses like smoking pot get caught, majority of homicide cases, thefts, scams and rapes go unsolved, usually because criminals are not as stupid as hollywood likes to make them look like, and second the real world is not hollywood where a cop puts his own life in danger just to butt his head into things he dare not, that's why they solve drug cases, it's easier to go handcuff a high person than to mess with some gang and put your family in danger too.

Second prisoners have very different states of mind, one might not mind being in prison or might actually like it since (s)he doesn't have to work, butt fucks others in prison, and has a more comfortable bed than what (s)he had at home, while another loser is in there for nothing serious.

I wanted to write more, but fuck it, not even worth wasting my time on it.

  8. Jail industry was stagnant the whole century until the Reagan era revitalized it by deinstitutionalizing the mentally ill and making the sentence for a candy bar sized amount of crack the same as a briefcase sized amount of cocaine. Went into a bull market after that that will go for years into the future. The prisoners themselves are a huge commodity too because the official numbers of incarcerated are a lot lower than the actual because of excluded pretrial detention people which has created big profits from boarding fees and transportation. Plus most Americans don't understand county government where a lot of corrections is administered. So, out in idiot nation all they have to do is release a story about violent overcrowded inmates with shivs hurling feces and the taxpayers will pay anything for new jails - thus creating new capacity. Towns will even fight each other to the death to get a federal prison.

By the demographics of an aging populace the industry should have collapsed but the illegals and making more and more conduct criminal has propped it up.

No end in sight - jail economy is too vital.

  9. Exodus 21:23-21:25

"If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."

This is the only way to truly deter crime. If you steal you lose a finger, if you steal again, you lose a hand, again you lose an arm. If you rape, you lose your genitalia, if you rape again you die...etc

But it will never happen...as the true reason we claim to "rehabilitate" is to ensure repeat customers. Prison system is way too profitable as its sister industry "the war on drugs" and just like the military industrial complex.

  10. I think your train of thought here is fascinating. You propose that crime can be detered by directing an equal crime against an identified perpetrator. The paradox is that instead of detering crime, it is perpetuated through the law.

If you truely want to eliminate crime it means you will have to rise above the law through... forgiveness.
