Good thread. I look forward to participating and continuing to learn from everyone. Here's my chart for the day. 4 trades: 3 winners & 1 loser First (win) â Went short when price rallied back to a trendline I had drawn on my anchor chart (20,000 volume bars). Took the trade despite it not satisfying the rules I have put in place for myself. So, even though the trade was my most profitable of the day, I am a bit disappointed in myself. I have had a tendency of breaking my rule and I am trying to become a more disciplined trader. Second (loss) â I placed a stop order to go long at 1237.50 at around 8:00 looking for prices to move higher. As price moved lower I gradually moved my stop lower until I was filled on the reversal. In hindsight, I should have waited for 2HHâs and 2HLâs before trying to trade the uptrend. I also could have avoided the fill had I not been so snug with my stop order. Third & Fourth (win) - Prices were working on putting in a HL. But, with resistance nearby I choose to use very tight stops and targets.
Good looking chart. Choppy day though. Appreciate the comments since it helps us all learn price action trading.
So my morning trade. Only one so far, and I exited early by far. I got distracted and closed the position because I couldn't devote my whole attention to it. As a result it was a 4.25pt winner but could have been much more.
hey everybody...sorry I haven't posted in a while but I recently switched from using Ninja over to using CQG...and I haven't figured out how to post the charts....anyway...keep up the good work everyone!
ok, as I assumed I use the same combo and get these dashes after a break and backfilling... happy trades!
So the rest of my day didn't go quite according to plan..... 1. Good start to the day, not the greatest exit, but a winner non the less. 2. Tried to go long here and didn't like the action so I exited for a 2 tick loss. No problem. However, that big 25k buy order went thru and it got me thinking. So I went long just before the drop and took a full stop there. Disappointed I didn't listen to myself and instead let other factors influence my decision. 3. Left my computer for a few minutes and missed this one. Didn't try to get in later as I didn't like the big swings. I felt my entry at that point would be marginal at best and would likely result in a stop loss. Too close to EOD for me now so that's all she wrote. I noticed things around here are getting a bit quiet lately, so I thought I would throw my two bits out there......
