In the last few minutes before the close, the SPY was ticking back and forth more than a dollar. I'll bet plenty got some horrible fills with any market orders.
This is only the beginning of what is yet to come. Illiquid, erratic markets. This "thinned out" market simply cannot absorb real selling, the likes of which we haven't seen in many years.
