I have never absolved Clinton, but the buck stopped at Bush door when he became president, and since the right wingers claim to be superior in defending America, the failure of Bush to fix the "known mistakes" by Clinton should have been job #1. 9/11 was a failure of our security systems, but what followed 9/11, including the spying on citizens, attacking Iraq, the surge in the price of oil, etc. was all part of the Bush/Cheney plan... The American people were so frightened like sheep that they allowed Bush/Cheney to get away with murder (figuratively if not literally)...all in the name of "protecting America."
