Funny that none of you Trump fans are discussing the unassailable fact that the post that caused Trump to throw this latest tantrum was in fact full of untruths and Twitter simply pointed that fact out. You've gotten to the point that you not only don't care when the President of the United States blatantly lies, but you are actively attacking anyone who points out those lies for what they are. What has gotten into you people?
lol dude he libels Scarborough with this ridiculous "cold case" and labels the guy a murderer... and he's worried how he's fucking treated? You sane, Bro?
It's almost natural for government to bloat itself though. New department, "Social Media Regulation". Throw a couple 6 figure jobs there with some ridiculous pensions. It's kind of natural.
It's not for Twitter to investigate whatever you said, then decide whether it may be a lie, and then point out that you may be lying. This is what communists do - make decisions about your speech and suppress it. How can they even treat a billion people equally if they try to label everyone's tweets. It's not even possible to implement without bias, and without selecting whatever they want to investigate. That would give them more power than any government.
That was sarcasm, in response to the other message: "Twitter should close his account ... sorted." I'd love to use Twitter, just without being concerned that they will start labeling mine or your tweets.
It's a tad more consequential when the POTUS labels a journalist and former US Rep a murderer... less so when I call you a cake boy on Twitter.
Sometimes Twitter has more power than the state. They closed many accounts, preventing people from speaking freely or doing commerce. Whether the state does that too, is another concern. You can't say that if the state can do this then Twitter can too.
But any type of speech is hard to define and enforce equally. It automatically means that they can assert the right over your speech. And maybe that can do that, and maybe don't need to be fair either. Then they just need to accept liability for everything that's posted on their platform.
