Oh, come on, you're spewing the most pathetic, laughable garbage I've seen. You think Trump would even deign to set foot in Canada to meet that lightweight Trudeau? Give me a break. This is the kind of delusional, desperate drivel that makes people question whether you've got a single functioning brain cell left. Spare us the nonsense and get a grip on reality.
No. Trudeau or whoever submits and then there are no tariffs enacted. Looks like Trudeau is about to get thrown out on his ass by parliament. https://www.axios.com/2024/12/01/canada-us-border-security-trump-tariffs Canada bolstering border security after Trump talks, Canadian official says Canadian officials are stepping up border security "in a visible and muscular way" following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's meeting with President-elect Trump, a top Liberal government minister who attended the talks said Sunday. Trump has previously visited Trudeau in Canada during his first term. Trump can joke about making Canada the 51st state - ain't going to happen. Just keep in mind that it appears that Trump gave Trudeau everything Canada wants by backing off on imposing tariffs.
Just keep in mind that it appears Trudeau has already committed to Trump demands. Does that really need to be said? Of course that is a joke.
The only thing that Trudeau committed to was to increase Canada's border enforcement to keep all the U.S. guns out of Canada. The U.S. does not really have a problem with migrants and drugs coming over the border into the U.S. from Canada -- the numbers are insignificant compared to the drugs & migrants coming over the border from Mexico.
How is this a bad thing for Canada ? We need to beef up border security because Trump is about to create a shit show in your country. It's hardly a dent in our budget ( which, by the way, is far more balanced then yours is ). Surely even your dumb ass must realize you just aren't a reliable neighbor anymore.
You are going to confuse the man with reality. Yes, guns imported to Canada from the US are a far bigger problem for us than anything going to the US. Throw in the possibility that Trump wants to kick out millions from the US we have to deal with this regardless of Trump's threats. Surely the US has better battles to fight than a trade war with an ally with essentially a balanced trade situation. But Trump cannot be trusted to be rational and certainly he won't care if lower and middle classes pay for his projects ( they'll pay and he'll pretend Canada paid ). If Trump wants to hurt both economies short term he will but to what end hard to say. Who will the US trade with instead ? Shipping costs go up, no more friendly discount on Canadian resources, the possibility of disruptions to US business due to retaliatory measures from Canada. US auto industry is particularly not ready for a trade war.
Is this the big win you so cherish that Canada beefed up border security ? Was this even a problem to solve ? If you aren't a high earner in the US, you likely just screwed over by Trump. I'll bet there is strong chance that my Canadian daughter benefits more from a Trump presidency than you do ( hint she's comfortably in the top tax bracket in your country ). First term what did he achieve for anyone other than pro life fanatics and rich people ?
If Trump decides to exempt Canada from his psychotic tariff policies...it could mean that Canada made Trump understand that Canada has leverage or has something that Trump wants for America or his personal needs involving his cryptocurrency business. Whatever happens, the media and social media talking heads will try to spin it in a way that it helps their agenda and viewership. I see this already when they talk about Trudeau's visit to Mar-a-Lago while forgetting the next guy (Poilievre) most likely to succeed Trudeau is a conservative who wants to shut down Trump's tariff policy plan because he believes strongly that Canada has the leverage. Does anybody remember the port strike that's scheduled to resume in January 2025...it hurt the U.S. more than Canada what happened when the truckers were on strike and didn't drive their consumer goods to Canada...several automobile plants were forced to shut down...costing the U.S. thousands of jobs and billions of dollars (estimate to cost 4.5 billion dollars...per day). https://finance.yahoo.com/news/port...tUbazbcQfHwVnCaWUZdIVRlo1J8sXEviuR7mi1wFrlPr1 Maybe more billions of lost revenue depending on if Trump plays that crazy 25% tariff game. wrbtrader
Trump said that after he heard the rumor that 4 states in the United States were thinking about becoming a province of Canada or joining a province after Trump won the U.S. election. https://economictimes.indiatimes.co...presidency/articleshow/115908620.cms?from=mdr wrbtrader
