President Obama, Mitt Romney Agree: Gay Boy Scouts OK

  1. Well its great to see that these guys and the media have a laser focus on the things that are important. I was going to vote strictly on this issue but since they are both for it, I am really stuck. It seems that since they are okay with gay boy scouts, does that mean they are also okay with lesbian girl scouts. Its doesn't really say if that is the case. This nuance may decide who wins the election.

    Lets change the way we think of eating Brownies. It will make us a better country.

    President Obama and Mitt Romney have found some new common ground -surprisingly - on an issue of gay rights.

    Obama today joined Romney in publicly disagreeing with a controversial ban on gay members of the Boy Scouts of America, one of the nation's largest and most well-known youth development groups.

    "The president believes the Boy Scouts is a valuable organization that has helped educate and build character in American boys for more than a century. He also opposes discrimination in all forms, and as such opposes this policy that discriminates on basis of sexual orientation," said White House spokesman Shin Inouye in a statement to the Washington Blade, a LGBT newspaper

    It's the first time Obama, who was named honorary president of the Boy Scouts of America in 2009, has publicly taken a position on the issue.

    Romney first voiced support for gay scouts back in 1994 - a position that his campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul said remains his position today.

    "I feel that all people should be allowed to participate in the Boy Scouts, regardless of their sexual orientation," Romney said in the video from 1994 recently re-surfaced by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. He added at the time that he supports "the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue."
  2. Yet another Odumbo LIE!

    He doesn't mind discriminating against the high-earner and wealthy.

    In America, there are Federal laws against discrimination for race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, some diseases.. even WEIGHT. But it's standard fare to discriminate against income/wealth?

    In the Declaration of Independence, the immortal words were inscribed... "All men are created equal".

    The America I want to live in... the one I've paid $MILLIONS in taxes to... the one where I gave up 4 years of my life to serve in the military during a time of war... is the one where ALL PEOPLE ARE TREATED EQUAL(LY) AND WHERE MERITOCRACY IS THE SPIRIT OF THE LAND RATHER THAN ENTITLEMENT CULTURE AND "ENTITLEMENT-PROMISED VOTE BUYING"...

    :mad: :mad:

    The US must be really a happy country without any serious problems, if gay boy scouts are considered such an issue of importance and great upset. :)

    What about gay scout masters? Or pedophile scout masters? :mad:

    The scouts are a private organization, they can make up their own minds who they allow.
  5. +1

    If the scouts are private, and take no federal money, they can be as bigoted as they want.:)

    Thanks for the link;
    maybe someone should ask about that girl scout position. Maybe that how the female lesbian leader of Icland got started . It maybe related to all thier socialist/meddling/crash/calamities.

    Actually I have never heard of a Chicago crook that ''opposes all discrimination in all forms''. Of course Chicago crooks may say anything in an election year.

    The only reason Chicago crooks havent outlawed Chick Fillet or taxed Bible Believing Churches to death is they cant.

    I am not saying all Chicago leaders are crooks, or all Chicago Clergy are as crooked as Senator Baraks ''Pastor'' of 20 years'';
    As they say in Chicago, vote early & vote often.:cool:

  7. Exactly my point. Are lesbians going to be in Girl Scouts too?

    Will the Girl Scouts eat Brownies?
  8. lol were any of you in boy scouts or have sons in the boy scouts of america? funny how so many people give a shit about this topic when there rly arent so many boy scouts out there
  9. Putting gays together with young men and boys worked out great for the Catholic Church and Penn State. What are the Boy Scouts so afraid of?
  10. One gay scout leader might end up kissing another gay scout leader. Or grab his ass or any physcial contact. Then the young boys might ask questions to the adult gay leaders about sexual matters.

    The problem I have is, it's not a formal setting for sex education, a gay scout leader cannot answer questions for young boys on gay life style because they have no training. When I send my kid to scouts I'd like to know that the conversation of gay sex is not on the agenda of the day or ever going to come up. Why should it? But it will if the two gay leaders are married or kiss or pda.
