  1. Is this why democrats are forcing everyone to buy health insurance?

  2. Good thing, don't you think? Otherwise, we wouldn't have many doctors. (Many doctors don't finish training until age 30... some much later than that. How many people would continue with education and training for another 12 years after HS? And these are not "like HS" schooling... heavy study and work loads. My wife's a doc... it's important to be trained and skilled at the highest standard... to be "Board Certified"... she intially had to pass her boards... then must renew each 10 years. For 6-months prior to re-certifying, all of her non-work time is spent studying. How many would do that?)

Her typical work week is about 50 hours... sometimes more. And when on "call", sometimes LOTS more. Not everybody has the ability nor the will to do the work.

BTW... wifey works at a hospital where indigents get free treatment... lots of Medicare and Medicaid patients too... all of which services are provided pro bono or reimbursed at such a low rate as to barely cover costs. She's been offered chances to work at other hospitals where her salary and benefits would be double. She's even been offered a chance to head a department but has declined. She may be foolish, but can't say she's not principled...

  3. Thanks to Obamacare, there won't be 'many' doctors.

"Surveys indicate that 66% of Baby-Boomer aged physicians will likely leave their practice as a result of Obamacare"

  4. Scataphagos, you and your wife are superior human beings but Bearice works 20 hours a day for the benefit of the world (especially wild animals). Think about it.
