The Right and the Evangelicals who so publicly promote family values can support a man who openly says, "When you are famous you can just grab them by the pussy".

  4. Lol.......Hows this for a perfect closing argument!!!

Trump attorney blames victim in closing: Carroll 'abused system' and didn't suffer 'real rape'
Donald Trump's defense attorney, Joe Tacopina, struggled to defend his client in the closing statements of a civil rape trial.

At a court hearing on Monday, Tacopina closed by telling the jury he could not prove Trump did not rape writer E. Jean Carroll.

"Ms. Carroll has abused the system," Tacopina said,

"If Donald Trump had come [to testify], what could I have asked him? About some unknown date? This is a civil case. They could have called Donald Trump. But they didn't. They just want you to hate him enough."

  7. The guy didn’t even want to show up, let alone testify. And as the defendant, I didn’t think he is obliged to testify. Am I missing something?

The defendant in a civil or criminal case in the U.S. does not have to take the stand in their own defense -- even if the plaintiff desires they do so. You should learn your constitution. Most defense lawyers advise their clients never to take the stand.

In this case -- nothing would make E. Jean Carroll's lawyers happier then Trump taking the stand. Considering Trump's continuous blunders in his video disposition, his on-the-stand antics in front of the jury would make the case a slam dunk for E. Jean Carroll.

  10. His own lawyer could have put him on the stand if he was really innocent , but Trump himself declined to take the stand. He was hiding in Scotland.

Trump's lawyer admits his own client was 'crude' and 'rude' to women in rape trial wrap-up

Trump, who was touring his golf properties in Scotland and Ireland during much of the trial proceedings, declined to take the stand himself or call any witnesses in his own defense, leaving it at Tacopina's cross-examination of Carroll.
