Well, there you have it. Shorted current TSLA high, only took like 1% though... Shorted ROKU at 396 to 390 although it should only be counted as a breakeven trade because I would have went short yesterday, just happened to get lucky there.
Missed UAL short on HoD too, SNAP moved too quick for me to enter on the giant candle at the very beginning of the day. Left so much money on the table...
Did ok today, could have been up way more. Closed TSLA way too fast, shorted Russell after it broke down but again closed fast, just before the big drop. Missed AAPL LoD too. Should have scaled out instead
Today marks 2 weeks since starting it. +11% thus far. At this rate, I may have the account doubled by July. As an aside, what do you think would be a fair split? Keep in mind that I'm not risking any money except what I'd already made in that account. (I trade the same strat in my acct but with differences; some stocks are not shortable and I use options in my personal acct for them, while the trade is not taken in that account; stock only).
One of those frustrating days. Took a non-system trade just after the open, short SPY and caught the drop. I guessed price might bounce at previous close on SPY but the Dow Jones still had a decent amount of gap left so I held. It didn't work and I eventually got out at breakeven. I lost this week's profit in my personal account because I shorted QQQ instead; I thought it was weaker but it became relatively stronger in the session. Using hindsight bias, Dow Jones should have been shorted because it had a bigger gap, more above the high than SPY. Not many trades coming at end of the week. Need to remain patient and wait for the good setups, there are always some each week. That said, I've been outperforming SPY, even though the rally is a straight line up and I'm taking almost all short trades in this environment as well as missing a few good trades here and there. I do think we see sub 400 on SPY...eventually. Who knows how far it goes up first before then. Sometimes there are solid and super obvious system index shorts. The market has not elected one except on 4/14, which was the most recent red day.
Closed it up there for around breakeven because of weeklies. Caught the low and yet options pricing made me get no reward. Curse this filthy lying cheating market. Edit: added picture
Interesting point. How do you use options pricing? Is it to gauge direction, to enter a trade, or just to stay with a trade or exit?
I mean that I wasn't using options pricing, it's just that how options value changes, even if it goes your way at times, is how the market cheats. It lies. It steals. It eats the hard work put in so that even if you win, you lose. Damn the stupid trash that is the market. I would have quit this accursed scam if I could. Made up of nothing but scum and garbage.
