    What's the best way to predict the direction of the market for the next day? indicators, news, earnings, and so on.

    (without flipping a coin)

    for example, tommorrow is up or down.

  2. Nasdaq up after 10:30est

    You have to do your own research and arrive at your own conclusion.. That's the challenge -- no way to predict it just being prepared to react..

    As far as probabilities depends on whether market has been in a pullback or reversal [major selloff]

    Opening price gaps make a difference;
    50 dma factors in , its been down for some time. Not a prediction:cool:

    I have seen the best position trades by making an excellent judgement of the how the NEWS will effect the market in the next 2 to 5 days.

    A FED speech, a coy report, a missile launch. Those who get the news first and make the best judgement or assess the judgement made by the crowd to be wrong.

    How strong is the story behind the security !

    The only sure way is to consult JamesStock/RubberBird/Thorny...

  7. Haven't seen him in awhile, but when Volente comes on with one of his "short term bottom calls" I load up the trigger to sell

    If you stare at the market long enough and hard enough, it begins to make sense.

    Some days are a complete crap shoot. Others are not.

    Otherwise as already stated, ThornBird is your best bet.
