Predicting is ***Unavoidable***

  1. <sigh>

No I am doing. Falling down sometimes as I catch an edge, getting up and learning from my mistakes. I'm having fun too.

    How about you?

  4. YOU'RE the all-time grand master of pretzel logic!

You claim you don't predict, but what about your "17 leading indicators?"

Speaking of which, would you please explain how Stoch and MACD are leading?

Since you use LAGGING indicators and since you extend out trendlines from PAST data, how is "NOW" the only consideration?

And what about your "P,V Boolean relation" manifesto (attached). The title is: "Catch Up With Tomorrow's Paper Today," and the sub-title is :"Technical Analysis Used in a Manner to Anticipate the Market." Doesn't that reek of prediction?

BTW, you've admonished others to "get out" Strunk & White (Elements of Style), yet your style is about as far from what they advocate as I've seen here.

I could go on but don't want to get too far off topic.

  5. Please link to any post in the current Futures Journal discussion where I (or Jack) have recommended using MACD and / or Stochastics.

  7. Are you denying that Jack uses stochastics and MACD? He and they are all over the internet together in both posts and charts.

I did a search for posts by Jack Hershey and stochastic. From the most recent one in that search:

"I do use the stochastic abou five different ways...."
    http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1294761&highlight=stochastic#post1294761

A search for posts he wrote with MACD in them returned 131 instances.

Neither of these counts his other aliases, not to mention his garbage elsewhere on the internet.

P.S. There's a link on the second page of your journal called "The Stochastic Indicator" but I really couldn't care less. This isn't about your journal.

    To which, you responded ....

All that above nonsense, when you could have simply admitted that no such recommendation involving MACD or The Stochastics exists within the current discussion of Jack's Futures Methods. Instead, you'd rather harp on ad infinitum about 9 year old USENET posts (and three year old ET Posts) while conveniently ignoring current content.

    Great Job.

Now, don't get me wrong. I certainly don't want you to stop. Quite the contrary. Your incessant 'warnings' to others have succeeded in accomplishing something truly admirable. You have motivated people to determine on their own and for themselves the validity of Jack's Methods. For that, I am truly grateful (and no doubt, so are they). Everyone should decide for themselves and not take your word for it or mine. To that end, you've done a fantastic job.

Please, keep up the great work.
