this is why 95% of retail traders lose.

they get brain washed by conventional wisdom... and the doom and gloom stuff sells... fear is a stronger motivator than greed... so they stay in cash, and gold, and bitcoin, and completely missing the equity run..

on fxcm retail is 9:1 long short on gold, 8:2 on bitcoin, 3:7 on SP500... meanwhile checking account balance at all time high, US household equity at all time high, corporate repatriating cash at all time high, biz optimism/investment at all time high.

retail is as stupid as it gets.

look at this economy forum - full of people who smear at what Trump is doing to the US economy... these people probably are not participating in the equity run.

To be specific, the PPT as defined by some posters on this site does not exist. When it comes to stock markets, there is no direct impact. The narrative on here for years about "they" propping up stock markets, "they" being the US Fed or the "PPT" or whatever is complete bs.

Since PPT related conspiracy theories were very popular early in this bull market, one might ask how well such theories guided trader and investor behavior since then. I would argue not very well. So I don't see the point.

How would it not guide them well? Buy the dip with little risk? Served me incredibly well.

In a sort of way PPT still exists, but its mainly executed by banks. If the government lends out 0% or 1% money to banks, The banks benefit by putting this cheap money to work, like lending this same money back to the government at a higher % and or they enter the markets with there new purchasing power, moving prices of commodities and securities.
