You must be one of those brilliant economists like Greenspan. He is brilliant and yet f*#ked up huge even by his own admission. He has said in so many words. I failed. So for the record are you short the pound long the USD or not so we can keep track.
I find it highly suspicious that so many people come out of the woodwork to bash the pound. I wouldn't short it at those levels. Over the short term (1 month), I might even be long the pound, how about that? And it doesn't take away that your analysis of the pound sucked. You only talked of fundamentals, well I told you how fundamentals work.
Fair enough. In fact I think we might be in for a bounce before the trounce as well. It's all good---just business so they say.
I like the swings in GBP / JPY...don´t understand why ANY TRADER on this site should give ole Jimmy too much attention - as long as he is providing volatility. Let him talk - the more controversial - the better.
Imminent Pound Collapse Warning Withdrawn Vince Stanzione apologises for putting words in Jim Rogersâ mouth February 26, 2010 - Press Dispensary - London - Trader and investment coach Vince Stanzione, who is sharing a seminar platform in March with financier Jim Rogers and investment adviser Dr Marc Farber, has this morning issued a retraction of the press release issued yesterday which stated that Jim Rogers claimed the pound could collapse within weeks. In a statement approved today by Jim Rogers, Vince Stanzione says: âThe quotes attributed to Jim Rogers yesterday â including the one that the pound could collapse within weeks â were issued by me prematurely, without the approval of Mr Rogers, who was travelling at the time and did not have knowledge of the press release before it went out. While Mr Rogers does note that the pound has had a downward adjustment, and that a severe double dip in the global economy is a strong likelihood, the idea that it might happen within weeks came from me, not Jim Rogers. It was based on my belief that the pound is vulnerable in the run-up to the UK general election.â Jim Rogers adds: âI did not see yesterdayâs press release before it went out and do not believe that the poundâs collapse is imminent. I accept Vince Stanzioneâs retraction and am pleased that he has taken responsibility for the press release.â Stanzione continues: âI apologise to Jim Rogers, the media, our press agency and to anyone else who may have been affected by the statement. I believed I was reflecting Mr Rogersâ sentiments but I accept that I should have sought his final approval before issuing the release. I take full responsibility.â Jim Rogers says he is looking forward to speaking in London on the March 19, 2010, and sharing his views on currencies, commodities and the global markets: "I have always had a great time speaking at Vinces's events. Complete dumbasses, honestly. Whenever I see this kind of thing it makes me want to move as far away as possible.
Trillionaire Rogers Has Announced He Has Cornered The Bowtie Market. I moved to China 'cause I like Won Ton
Ever wondered how Jim Rogers makes his money? Getting booked for "appearances" by snakeoil salesmen like Stanzione who then sell tickets to gullible retail investors for $3,000 a pop. What a great business model.
Yeah, why be so stupid paying to hear Rogers speak when you can just email him with your questions and he'll answer back in 24 hours.
