Post economic collapse game plan

  1. This is a totally understandable and reasonable approach. In my opinion, what you've described here is prudence, as opposed to outright paranoia.

My comments were directed toward those doom and gloomers who are "stocking up" on ammo, seeds, and farm land. This is paranoia at its best. Being prepared for potential negative outcomes is one thing - having it consume your life is an entirely different animal.

  2. Apparently you've never gone a few days without food.... it's quite a motivator.

Am I the only one who thinks there are actually people out there who will simply go "Fuck you, we're not listening to you anymore" to the standing governments if they collapse?

Look at the states, there's already been talk about them suceding and there is actually nothing in the constitution that really forbids it as far as I'm aware. Then there is the fact that governments will no longer have the power to maintain an army and it's extremely doubtful that they will take any orders to subdue the populace if they aren't even being paid real money.

I for one think that more than likely very little will actually happen, sure you may have riots, people may ransack the government. You need to realize though that there are those out there who simply don't want to fight the majority of the time. The only way I can see a world war happening through economic collapse is if the western governments in all their stupidity simply speed up the battle plans in the middle east as much as possible.

In which case I would probably be one of the first to pick up arms and fight against my own country.

  6. And just what are you doing about it, Mr. Change the System? You are sitting in front of a computer screen all day bitching about the state of the country and complaining that nobody is doing anything. Here's a thought - DO SOMETHING.

  7. We are currently in a depression. A collapsing country...no, not the way many people are thinking. A middle class destruction, it is happening now. Regulated stock market, killing off individual traders, happening now. Socialism, as in a extension of gov. Dependency...happening now. Credit restructuring so upward mobility in wealth persuading..happening now.

Bottom line pretending to make money is no longer the cool. Either make it or suffer....that's the new reality.

I for one would not want to live off grid too long, a 50 year camping/farming trip is not living. One would need a solar/wind powered fortess to really be safe. maybe a few of you can afford it but I can't.

The US can produce a lot of food really cheap, I would relax about that one. You may be in a soup line, but I doubt that there would ever be massive shortages to the point you would starve. The Soviets always had bread, no toilet paper but by golly they had bread.

  9. If the 88 in your name is your birth year then you're right. You wouldn't last a week without your iPod, cellphone and Facebook.
