Possible to mount monitors w/o VESA?

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by brownsfan019, Oct 12, 2011.

  1. I learned about VESA tonight and was hoping to mount a few monitors that I have. Looks like they are not VESA compatible out of the box, is there a workaround available?

    Monitors I have: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+...itor/1375082.p?id=1218254504494&skuId=1375082

I found all sorts of adapters on amazon, but no idea what could work since attaching this adapter to the monitor is obviously key. Any advice/suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks!

  2. brownsfan019, what kind of monitor do you have, as the bestbuy link given is not working. Also, given on the ebay link, is mentioned:
"Vesa Mount Adapter Kit For Dell ST2420L and ST2320L (ST2220M) series monitors. Attach your 24" OR 23" to a desk mount or articulating arm. Wall mount or other VESA mounting systems.
Important: will not work with (S2230MX and S2330MX)"

Did it work out? Do let us know, thanks:)

  3. I have 4 of these monitors: http://amzn.to/viTqVY

Connected with this stand: http://amzn.to/vhmEFL -- that one is freestanding

This one clamps to desk and a trading friend of mine loves it: http://amzn.to/rvpe58

Then used these Vesa mounts: http://bit.ly/u3HzIZ
(need those to connect monitors to stand as did not have holes pre-drilled for mounting)

That was the main hardware. Also picked up:
    HDMI cable: http://amzn.to/srGol6
    Active adapter: http://amzn.to/rPXgyV
(adapter was needed for my video card)

  4. brownsfan019, thanks for detailed explanation. The setup looked interesting. :)
