Possible Shorts

Discussion in 'Stocks' started by -hammertime-, Dec 21, 2008.

  1. I'm short azo 137.90. Had 200 covered 100 for 5 points holding out on 100. Probably it will break 52 week highs and I get fucked but if it doesn't it has to really come in.

  2. For intraday trading, I try to short stocks from my watchlists (previous night and morning scans + news) when they cross below previous day close or lows ; using that in conjunction with healthy or above avg. volume, stochastics, other Tech indicators, and index sentiment to time entry. I have mixed feelings about entering trades during extended hours and only do so during obvious moves.

Consequentially, all of the stocks from my Thursday evening posted watchlist went to lows on Friday, with probably the best short being RF, a local bank here in the deep south. KBH was a great short off of news Friday, along with most listed/nasdaq securities.

How do you all determine entry/exit points for your shorts on both intraday and swing trade types of trades?

    ...?

Please share. Also, any ideas or commentary on market direction for Monday/next week would be much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Hammer

  4. This one made me want my mommy. Time to look for greener pastures. Not much profit, but better than a sharp stick in the eye.

  5. Okay, guys....obviously you couldn't have a better three days than the past three for being SHORT !

You could have thrown darts to pick money-makers this morning. Citigroup's slide was diabolical. Look at Alcoa's movement. POT is tanking.

The retailers, insurers, homebuilders, and financials have been pounded.

For tomorrow, honestly, anything goes again. My watchlist is growing each day. AAPL, MYL, FLO, RF, HIG, RMBS, KBH, CHK, GS, COH, TIF, LVS, AXP....my list goes on.

Please share your thoughts on recent market movement and Possible Shorts.

    Regards,
    BB

  9. inauguration = no "dead cat bounce"

financials crushed everything. hope everyone's keepin it on the short side

Citi's downfall has made people $$$. The real question(s) is/are we going to lows again tomorrow? Will we drop below 2008 lows of 7445 on the Dow? Some are calling for a capitulation day drop coming up between 500 to 1000 pts in size on the $dji.

Can we go to 7000 ?

    6000?

Where does major support come in again?

    Hold those shorts.
