Actually, they don't. The beauty of the Senate is that Senators represent states.---The House represents the people.
As the top political analyst on the board, I say that it would be best for The Senate to go back to where each state legislature picked them rather than the way it is now with them being elected. In this way, the state legislatures would be able to be represented in Washington the way The Founders intended them to be.
