Dominion may be taking on risk by initiating a lawsuit because of defendant’s right of discovery. However, the media and political climate in the US will be mostly favorable to their cause. The Left prevailed in the 2020 US elections overall because they were more focused, smarter, and more competent than the Right. In addition, it appeared the Left was less restrained than the Right in circumventing established rules that would otherwise impede them from attaining their goals. Note I am not implying the Left is actually smart or competent, just they are better than domestic competition. It looks like are going back to being ruled by “Kings and queens”. No need to shed a tear for lost Democracy, though. After all, Democracy is an unstable form of Government that requires constant vigilance by the people to maintain it. Success in nature, whether it involves people or wildlife, causes motivation and skills that it took to initially reach that level of success to wane, leading to predictable eventual decline. While most still feel people’s lives matter, including that of the opposition, in nature and much of human history, this an exception. As our society continues to devolve, will indifference to people’s lives set in? Can we expect a genocide event or two in our future? Would it even matter? Excuse me for sounding so fatalistic, but there is little reason to be impressed by the conduct of either side right now, including business leaders, politicians, and the media. That said, there is nothing that is truly preordained should we get effective leadership along with more active participation in our system by more members of our society. Personally, I will maintain an open mind and support towards the leadership of Biden and Harris. One of the biggest early challenges facing the new administration is how to handle Trump. Should they decide to go heavy handed against Trump and possibly his family, I can well imagine Trump supporters feeling they are being personally attacked by The Administration. Even if it is ordained that Trump supporters lives don’t matter, tens of millions Trump supporter confidence and spending patterns most certainly matter to business owners, executives, and to our economy, ultimately affecting us all. Based on anecdotal evidence I am seeing from the younger generation, I believe we are on the cusp of a new age that could finally allow us to distinguish ourselves from our shit throwing ape ancestors and provide real opportunities for the hard working and focused, whatever their initial situation, to reach their full potential. Resources are still plentiful and each person who wants to thrive, but can’t, shows incompetence, perhaps at multiple levels. Character, strong work ethic, effective communications, willingness to try to understand another’s point of view, and leadership are the tools needed to usher in the new era of human evolution in waiting. Same is it ever was, but will that matter to the powers that be?
