I have a trial/beta/developer (kindof a marketing free-bee) Clear 4G device and its pretty quick in NYC. That said I can litterally see 5 or so 4G cell nodes from my apartment window. When I leave the area its standard 3g speeds which is around 2-3mbps down and 500k up. Goood 4G is closer to Wireless-G speeds if you are stationary and have full signal. I'll hook up the netbook later today and get a few speedtest readings. Just to make it clear - this is a plug-in device similar to a router that essentially is a 4G to ethernet/WiFi bridge. I have the choice to go wireless or wired to the 4G adapter. When I go wireless my speeds seem to be exponentially reduced by the WiFi hop from the laptop to the device then device to the cell towers... When wired between the 4G device and the laptop/PCs its pretty good - around 5-8mbps up/down and pretty reliable.
