  1. So, just to confirm. Development of nuclear facilities at military sites are allowable under the deal.

    Got it.

Say goodbye to the aforementioned deal.

  3. I guess you didnt understand when I said that because you cannot inspect any areas where there are "other" military assests- ie. military bases- that any nuclear development there is therefore beyond inspection.

A little complexity there and you got lost. Hope I have clarified it for you.

Say goodbye to the Iran Deal unless revised.

I voted yes. The question is... what will Trump ask for in this "deal"? There's some mixed signals out there.

Pompeo said yesterday on CBS's Sunday show:

"The president has a commitment. And he will make this commitment to Chairman Kim, I am confident, that says, if you do the things we need to do so that America is no longer held at risk by your nuclear weapons arsenal, and that you get rid of your CBW [chemical and biological weapons] program and missiles that threaten the world, we will ensure that your people have the opportunity for the greatness that I know Chairman Kim wants them to have".

And then later on Fox he added:

“America’s interest here is preventing the risk that North Korea will launch a nuclear weapon into LA or Denver or into the very place we’re sitting here this morning. ... That’s our objective; that’s the end state the president has laid out.” (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wee...nt-trumps-national-security/story?id=55110238)

Sooo... its ok to bomb Tokyo as long as you can't bomb San Fran? Somehow I don't think Japan is gonna be on-board with that.

And... from Trumpy's little press conference with Macron:

"It means they get rid of their nukes. Very simple. They get rid of their nukes, and nobody else would say it. It would be very easy for me to make a simple deal and claim victory. I don’t want to do that. I want them to get rid of their nukes". (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing...esident-macron-france-joint-press-conference/)

    There's a huge difference here.

Its interesting as hell really. Trumps ego is on the line. (God help us) He so wants a victory. Thing is, I think in a way.... Kim has the upper hand here.

If Trump walks out, he'll have to do so leaving threats of greater sanctions on the table. Then what? Countries start picking sides. The whole thing escalates.

My guess (bet money).... they offer up some fluff and Trump is allowed to kick the can down the road for "further negotiations". And Trump rides this as a huge victory when in essence its gonna be pretty much what we have right now. No new missile tests and some other minor bs.

    Interesting times.

  5. Kim is going to want troop withdrawals from South Korea as a starting position in negotiations. That is not going to happen but if it were up to me I would agree to partial reductions in return for removing the conventional short range missiles that can reach Seoul. I think that is reasonable. It demilitarizes things but also makes it easier to take action against him without wiping out Seoul. Some version of that.

They can inspect any area they want. Some require 24 days notice but that is not a problem because you can not erase evidence of a nuclear weapons facility in 24 days.

  8. Unless the site you want to inspect has been designated as a military site.

Did we not cover this? Wise up. The kool aid making you groggy.

I think we should withdraw troops from S.Korea. Why even have them there anyway in this day and age?

If the North made a move, we could obliterate them quickly with air power out of Guam and Japan. (Unless we are bound by treaty to keep them there.)
And they (S Korea) would probably go for it anyway. Give up the annual war-games too.

Let him keep the nukes he has, no more testing, no more missiles, remove short range conventional artillery from the 38th, ...and we pull out. Win win for Trump. Saves billions/year.

“As long as Iran remains in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), it has an obligation to answer the IAEA’s questions and allow inspectors access to military sites and personnel in Iran related to that effort,” the Institute for Science and International Security, which has been skeptical of the Iran deal, said in a statement after Trump’s speech.
