Wow...you really must be stupid or something. You just dont get it do you? I was showing 777 how idiotic is constant poisoning of the well is. The point of this post is that my statement *IS incorrect * ***because*** Im using 777's FLAWED logic. But it went straight over the top of your head. Just more evidence of your mental incompetence. peace axeman
No. I probably went one step too far in the analysis. But at any rate, you can take it to the level that if your happiness is enhanced by living a principle in a book, then you can safely say, "that principle is good." And yes, there might be good principles hidden in otherwise unredeeming books. And to the point about belief, I realize that belief is doing something, but belief in and of itself isn't enough. You have to actually do something in order to know of its value. Simply believing in an abstract idea like heaven, most likely won't make a person happy. If a person believes in heaven and therefore takes steps to improve their lives, serve those around them and take care of their families and loved ones, then no doubt that that belief will have enriched their life as well as the lives of those around them.
Though there are a variety of possible responses to this question, there are three traditional responses that predominate in Western society: (1) God does not exist- atheism (2) we cannot know whether God exist- agnosticism (3) a personal God does exist- theism. This again shows your glaring ignorance. It leaves out the most popular atheist position, which is: (4) I do not believe in god/gods - ATHEISM (The majority type of atheism) #1 is called STRONG atheism, which is NOT the typical atheist position. So you like to use this as a strawman argument. Gee.... how many times do I have to explain this? Apparently, you are incapable of LEARNING as well This is really getting pathetic. Im arguing with someone who cant reason, doesn't understand the terms, AND is incapable of learning. peace axeman
Axeman, If you are truly relying on unemotional logic for your atheist belief and arguments, then why are your responses so overtly hostile toward those who would take the other side of the argument?
"If you are truly relying on unemotional logic" Tripack, I hope you have noticed this is not the case. I usually debate technically without the Ad Hominem attacks. But this guy is frankly, just so idiotic, and its so obvious that it wouldnt matter if I debated in my usual technical manner, because it gets me no credit. So I resorted to a faster and looser aggressive debating style. The guy is simply an idiot, and im debating at a lower level. Its a little embarassing Wrestling with a pig ya know... This thread is a joke, so im not bothering to debate perfectly well. Your previous post was reasonable. I would just add that as Missed the Boat already pointed out, we are not cocerned wether or not biblical principles enhance someones life (because I do believe this occurs). We are simply concerned with IS IT TRUE??? THAT is the issue at hand. I think most atheists would concede that biblical principles DO enhace SOME peoples lives. Just not mine, theirs, or all peoples. peace axeman
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Wow.... the completely biased idiot twin brother of GA supports him! Oh my...we are soooo surprised! NOT! LMAOOOOOO... omg that is funny. GA has proven beyond doubt how CLUELESS he is and you really think he won this???? Your are as stupid as him if you believe this. peace axeman
