  2. Other theists on ET have put forth FAR stronger arguments
than anything you have produced so far.

Your arguments have been the "weakest" of christian arguments
that I typically come across which all sit on the vast assumptions
that the bible is TRUE and that god even exists.

If this is true then you should be able to give clear logical arguments on the subject and explain why you are an ex-Christian (as if there is such a thing?)

Again you have attacked the messenger and not the message.
You are simply running away from the argument. I did not say that YOU DONT KNOW WHAY YOU BELIEVE but rather YOU have NOT demonstrated beyond a reasonable doupt as to pursuade me to believe in the notion that the Bible is ridiculous or that my assertion that the Fossil record is an embarrasment to evolutionary theory.

It would appear that you are not well prepared nor equiped to logically and reasonably debate the issue without name calling and cracking jokes. I believe that this is a serious issue worth examining. Come back when you are well equiped to answer the questions without resorting to adolesent behavior.

  3. How soon we forget?

"As an atheist, I DO NOT KNOW, why the universe exists, and
that is fine with me. Far better than making up fairy tale
crap to make myself feel better."

There are atheist who DO KNOW why they are atheist and can give a reason for thier belief system.

    .....can YOU?

  4. rather than argue with uninformed loudmouths, i think it would be more interesting to hear what people like axeman, RM, LongShot, etc. think about the universe (if they don't mind sharing). i realize you guys probably won't claim you KNOW what's going on, but i think it'd be interesting to read what thoughts you guys have.

  5. "YOU have NOT demonstrated beyond a reasonable doupt as to pursuade me to believe in the notion that the Bible is ridiculous... "

Yeah right....isn't obvious? Lets see here...

    1) Magic dude created the whole universe and all of us, but nothing had to create HIM

    2) Water turning to blood

    3) God sends wild animals sent to kill infants, but THOU SHALT NOT KILL!!

    4) Hippie dude coming back to life after proclaiming to die for OUR sins.

    5) Exodus 20:15 "Thou shalt not steal."

Versus: Luke 19:29-34 "[Jesus] sent two of his disciples, Saying, Go ye into the village . . . ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. . . . And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, W
hy loose ye the colt? And they said, The Lord hath need of him."

    6) Throw in some salvery:
Leviticus 25:45-46 "Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, . . . and they shall be your possession . . . they shall be your bondmen forever."

Joel 3:8 "And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Lord hath spoken it."

    7) Oooops...god changes his mind after saying he never changes.
I guess he must be bipolar. :D

Malachi 3:6 "For I am the Lord; I change not."

Genesis 6:6,7 "And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth . . . And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth . . . for it repenteth me that I have made him

    8) Is god confused here? Truly bipolar :D

Exodus 20:5 "For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation." (Repeated in Deuteronomy 5:9)

Ezekiel 18:20 "The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father."

    9) Gee....wish he would make up his sick mind :d

Psalm 145:9 "The Lord is good to all."

Isaiah 45:7 "I make peace and create evil. I the Lord do all these things."

    10) Wow!!! What a setup. God is worse than the mob! :D

James 1:13 "Let no man say . . . I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man."

Genesis 22:1 "And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham."

    11) Hmmmm your supposed to believe in this fairy tale, but no
one has even ever seen him?

John 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time."
Exodus 33:20 "Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live."

    Oh wait a second!!!

Genesis 32:30 "For I have seen God face to face."
Exodus 33:11 "And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend."

    Gee... what a liar!!! :D

    Shall I go on???

Oh wait.... I dont know a damn thing about the christian bible.
I better stop while im behind :p LMAO!

The most ridiculous and contradictory fairy tale I have ever read! :D

  6. Are you mentally retarded??

Are you incapable of seeing the difference between
the meaning of these two sentences:

    1) As an atheist, I DO NOT KNOW, why the universe exists, and
    that is fine with me.

    2) I do not know what I BELIEVE.

You read that I dont know why the universe exists, and
somehow managed to translate this to mean that I
dont know what I BELIEVE! LMAOOOO :D

Wow... you have some serious issues dude.
Learn to READ before you reply. :p

I know EXACTLY why I am an atheist and WHY I dont believe
in your fairy tales. Can you say NO RATIONAL REASON to
    believe such nonsense without proof?

  7. The Holy Bible.

The Holy Bible is divine rather than human in origin.

    We have:

    1) Manuscript evidence
    2) Archeological evidence
    3) Prophetic evidence
    4) Statistical probability.

Once you have exhausted the above YOU too will be faced with overwhelming evidence as to origin of the Bible being divine.

    The scriptures speak for themselves.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Quote from LongShot:

    Bertrand Russell:

"Why, I should say, 'God, you gave us insufficient evidence.'"

Al Seckel, in Preface to Bertrand Russell on God and Religion

    :-/
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in thier hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that thier minds became dark and confused. Claming to be wise, they became fools instead. And instead of worshipping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people, or birds and animals and snakes.

So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen"

    Romans 1:18-25

"So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made them all look foolish and has shown their wisdom to be useless nonsense. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never find him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe. God's way seems foolish to the Jews because they want a sign from heaven to prove it is true.
And it is foolish to the Greeks because they believe only what agrees with their own wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended, and the Gentiles say it's all nonsense. But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Chist is the mighty power of God and the wonderful wisdom of God. This "foolish" plan of God is far wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God's weakness is far stronger than the greatest of human strength."

    1 Corinthians 1:20-25

  8. The holy bible is as much evidence as the Illiad
is evidence of zeus! Did you believe in the greek
    gods after reading greek mythology?

    Didnt think so. :D

    1) Manuscript evidence

    For example?

    2) Archeological evidence

    For example?

    3) Prophetic evidence

    For example?

    4) Statistical probability.

    For example?
Oh this should be good. :D

Quick....submit this to the national academy of sciences, are
best scientists across all disciplines and immediately convert
those 97.3% of non-believers into christians. Good luck!
    You will need it :D

  10. And I could list HUNDREDS more...but whats the point?

    It's all so silly.

It amazes me that any intelligent person could swallow
such ridiculous stories containing so many blatant errors.

Then they expect us to accept this as ample proof of the
greatest and most extraordinary claim possible.
    Yeah right! :D

I think Einstein had to produce a little more than a book
full of fables and contradictions before his theory of
relativity was accepted by the scientific community :D

The bible does not even come close to constituting reputable evidence.
