  1. You don't mean the Un Security Council do you? What is it exactly that they do? Why would I listen to something they say? They were kicked out 5 years ago and DID NOTHING....Now Im going to worry about their opinion? Please...As far as Al queda and Europe, they will start hitting them.....Hoping that the cowardly French and Germans (who are really one in the same) will pressure the UN and US to cater to their cause....The last time Al Queda hit America, they lost a country ( Afghanistan) and are about to lose another ( Iraq)....Remember that terrorists are trying to do exactly that "TERRORIZE THE SCARED"....If they take out the Eiffel Tower, The French wouldn't be angry at them, they would blame US policy and help the terror cause because deep down the French and germans are no different then the Terrorist....Look what they did to the Jews only 50 years ago?

  2. Sure the UN has a (deservedly) horrible reputation in these matters, but it seems that the poll numbers don't seem to support a non-coalition war, and bush has resigned to at least paying the UN lip service and adhering to the resolutions passed in the fall... it might get interesting if the UN forces a showdown.

  3. I think the UN is the most laughable joke of an organization...the US pays for it and all they do is exchange spy notes in the library of the building..Even the make up.....the FIVE powers with Permanent veto....FRANCE? California has a larger GNP than France....Why should France have a voice larger than say, Saudi Arabia? Who has more power in their world? I'v enticed I have become very Anti French lately.....And german too.....Does this make me anti-germatic?... :D

How come there's no mention of the war heads they found today?

    1.
Is it really worth mentioning a few empty shells ... outdated rockets from the 80s with a 10 mile range ?

    2.
in light of the total uselessness of those "war heads" it won´t take the French much courage to not "be angry at them (?)" ... imo.

    3.
what exactly did the French and the Germans do to the Jews ... in 1953?

  5. so the UN isn't perfect... so? tell us something we don't know..

it's still far better than the alternative isn't it? NO UN? yeah, i'm sure that would be a much better model..

and i know it's easy take shots at the french (and the germans), but give them a break... they have their own national interests to look after too.... just because they don't always say how hi when sam says jump doesn't mean we completely write them off.... i mean, if it came to the crunch, they are still valuable allies (not to mention trading partners..)

    EDIT

oh, and given France's record in 20th century warfare (think ww1, ww2, french indo-china), it's good they've got veto rights... might save them another butt kicking if they had to fight again... :D

  6. What did they do? The French were known German sympathizers...who also turned over their jewish people to Hitler in order to 'spare' themselves....In addition, this is a country that was invaded and conquered by Germany in about 8 days....not exactly a strong showing....Truthfully, if i have to explain my problems with the Germans then we are wasting our breath.....trying to extinguish a race of people...If it wasn't for the germans and french we wouldn't have these problems today....they displaced the jews and forced the UN and Britain to set up the jewish state....let me perfectly clear about this....If you really think this is only about anti war sentiment on the french and german side, you are mistaken...there is deep hatred of the jews by them and THEY caused these problems 50 years ago, not the US.

  8. no doubt you're going to ruffle a few feathers with those comments TM...

truth be told, growing up and reading about world events that occurred before my birth, i always found it strange at how quickly and smoothly germany re-entered the international arena as a good guy.... i mean, it's not like hitler was despised dictator, nazism was a populist movement.... and then all of a sudden all that gets forgotten and there's west germany winning the world cup a mere 9 years later.... is that how quickly the horrors of ww2 are forgotten? i still find it weird that that's what happened...

anyway, i think TM may have at least half a point here... the inbred hostility towards the jews from those people didn't just end in may '45... the same bunch of people happily smashing windows on kristallnacht didn't just magically transform themselves into champions of the jewish cause you know....
