You know that I have been told that many people with an arab face were arrested in the USA and jailed without reasons. and those people did not even have the right to call their lawyer or their family??? Did you hear about that. By the way as a cuban you may even look as a north african. I don't know how you look like but it could be you also arrested for no obvious reason... Peace
Jerusalem is a holy city for not only muslims, but christians and jews as well. And Israel was willing to make it a separate city-state. But that did not satisfy the PA. Besides, you love going back in history. So tell me, how long was Jerusalem a holy place in Islam, and how long for the Jews? Not even close! Yes, lot's of jews in France. How are they treated there lately? How about during the German occupation? France is not the most tolerant place as far as accommodating their jewish population. Argue with me all you want. But here is an issue I could (but won't) do one of those cut and paste jobs you are so fond of. swastikas painted on synagogues, anti-semitic press, etc. Not a paradise for jews. Not by a long shot. Of course it isn't just France. Right now there is more anti-semitism in Europe than there has been in the past 50 years. At least it is more "open". No TF, I am not obsessed with whether women can have their hair and nails done. Probably a bad example. But what real rights do they have in the arab world? How many places must they cover their faces? How many places are they allowed to vote? Drive a car? Etc.? So great if they can do their nails. They are permitted to show there hands. Very progressive! All of this bothers me not in the least. It is just that I for one would not be comfortable contemplating living in such a restrictive society. Each to his (or her) own. Problem is, it seems those that are there are not given many choices. Other than to emigrate. Why did you emigrate? Peace, rs7
I will say it one more time....There is good and there is bad everywhere; yes even in the good ole USA. To take the Good you must take the Bad, there is no working around that. My point to Aphie was that there are people willing to die to come to a Country like USA. To hear an American talk like he did is just plain disgusting..If you dont like the policies by all means move to a Country like Cuba or Saudi Arabia....That offer extends to Candle also......
This is the kind of thing we get when the Democrats are in power, along with Waco and Ruby Ridge. Spooky stuff. They always go after the "soft targets". Sort of like Saddam.
El Cubano, Saudia is not my country but I would love to live in Cuba. Already been there. Unfortunately why is there a US embargo there. What Aphie said is damn good. Man it's not because you live in a rich country that you should accept all what is done IN YOUR NAME ... don't forget that. you pay taxes and you caution things. I posted once an article about Israel where the author Jensen said "Today I killed a palestinian". With the taxes I paid the US governement paid arms to Israel to kill innocent people. oncerning the suicide bombers, they are certainly not financed by The US or by any other country. I think i they were it would be a damn good deal since not that expensive... The USA created a lot of killings and hundreds of thousands of people are dying every year because of the US policy. That's my point . thise killings should not be made in your name or with your taxes. If this is the case you are participating. Trying to hide will lead you nowhere, you are responsible. My friend Rs7 tries to excuse his people for the crimes they are doing by trying to explain how arab are pervert or bad or that they do not enable him to enter their countries .. but all what he said was wrong. I don't know if I can enter Israel but I am damn sure you can enter Syria egypt... Peace
Of course you would love to live in Cuba, thats because you are not Cuban. You would be free to do as you please. Why is there a US embargo?? thats a great question. There, IMO should not be an embargo and the only one benefiting from that is Castro. American Farmers and Cuban citizens are the ones paying the price. Back to my point i was making to Aphie...he should consider himself lucky to be born in such a great Country, even he can agree with that.....TF you need not answer that question for him... peace and much love to you.... P.S...lets not forget that a percentage of taxes being paid to USA are from American Muslims themselves.....
I do consider myself lucky -- but I try to give back to society in as many ways as I've been given from it. My point is that the United States doesn't feel like the United States lately. I'm not very confident with my current president's foreign policy at all. Bush's father was in oil, Bush is in oil, Cheney is in oil -- as well as several other key administration officials. Now, how can you separate the fact that we have an administration that is bought and paid for with corporate dollars? It is sickening. We're not the U.N. We're a member of the U.N. (a member that is still delinquent in paying dues) and we must respect the thoughts and opinions of other nations. There is national security at stake, but what we do today, tomorrow and the months and years ahead could have devastating consequences for other nations that are currently considered our allies in the fight against "terrorism." Well, if Bush and Co. want to go start a war with Iraq because of a complicated intermixing of oil interests, the fight against terrorism and Bush Sr's pride over the gulf war, then let's go in there and fight them -- but with the full knowledge that we aren't the same country with the same ideals that existed when we fought for independence against England. That's why they need to stop this madness and start acting responsibly. A "war hawk" mentality might be great if you have defined borders to attack and have a lot of guns and ammo to attack with, but terrorism is more like a virus that invades the body. Once you've been infected, there is no clear target. There isn't one country on this planet that we could just nuke and have "everything be ok." The fundamentalists are all over the place, and they're planning their next big attack. Why not, at the risk of trying something radically different, address the problem at its roots? Why not you ask? Because then it would become quite apparent just how ugly the situation is and also how the United States is not "totally innocent" from any wrong-doing. Anyone can be an American and wave a flag and drink a beer while screaming, "Let's kick some ass!" However, it takes a lot more balls for an American to say, "Screw this, its partly us -- we're not a perfect country and we need to address these problems from new angles." All the bombs, bullets and blood in the world will never solve this age-old problem -- the only thing that will is for nation's to lose the ego and get to the root of the problem.
you are 100% correct....As Ihave said there is Good and Bad everywhere..I was just refering to the luck you have had being born in a great country, period the end.......
