I always thought it was more of a Liberal principal, not a phenomenon....Just ask Bill Clinton, the liberal leader

  4. Babak

    Babak

The only way that a person can comprehend a culture is to go there and visit the people in their natural habitat (atleast) or live among them for some time (for best results).

Then you come to understand that different people have different strengths and weaknesses.

I don't know why TF gets so prickly about this. The Middle Eastern culture is known for many virtuous characteristics. For example, their hospitality is unmatched in the world.

But lets not kid ourselves. Anyone who truly knows the culture will tell you that they are known [cough] to take some liberties with the facts....and to haggle with you till you're both hoarse.

Many cultures are proud of their character. For example, the Catalan are actually take pride and make jokes about their tight fistedness.

Recently on a trip in Spain a gentleman pointed to a duro (5 cent equvalent) on the floor of the bar and said, 'you know I am not cheap enough to pick that up'.

He reached into his pocket and fished out a 2 Euro coin. He promptly chucked it on the floor right beside the smaller coin.

Then he looked at me with a sly smile and said, 'But... 2.05 Euros!! That is another thing!'

And he bent down and picked up both coins!!

I laughed my ass off and truly appreciated this guy who could make fun of himself as a Catalan. :D

  5. and Reagan couldn't recall, and Nixon wasn't a crook, and Pataki didn't realize there was a deficit until after the election....

neither party has a monopoly - they all lie.

  6. I have spent many years living among the people of the United States in their natural habitat. I can tell you that although they don't have the concept of "jihad", they do have the concept of "just war", and any war against a dictator is a just war according to the majority of americans.

  7. and Reagan couldn't recall, and Nixon wasn't a crook, and Pataki didn't realize there was a deficit until after the election....

...and I didn't realize a blow job on the oval office desk was considered sex, and i did not have sexual relations with that woman..I was just having target practice with her chin!
    :D

Liberals do tend to flat out lie though in my opinion....then when you call them on it ....they switch the subject. here's an example:

"THE USA WANTS WAR WITH IRAQ FOR THE OIL"
....then why didn't we keep Kuwait when we liberated them?

"THE US. IS ONLY CONCERNED WITH OIL"
....Then why would we befriend israel?

" BUSH IS DOING THIS TO AVOID THE FACT THAT HE'S LOSING THE WAR ON TERROR"
.... but we caught 13 or the 25 most wanted, broke up the terror camps and there hasn't been any additional attacks on the US?

"YEAH BUSH JUST WANTS THE OIL"

go ahead....Cut and paste links to esteemed web sites as your rebuttal:)
