Trump was better. All Hillary did was put on creepy smiley faces. She's on some type of drugs that makes her act really weird. Trump will only get better in the next 2 debates. Unless Hillary gets sick again and backs out.
The question is not who won, the question is who lost? The clear answer is the American people. Is this the best America can do? I guess it is time to start considering Jill Stein.
I hope the important subjects will be debated. Questions such as: the possibility of a US government default, and a possible worldwide economic crisis. Questions such as: will the US continue messing up countries in the world and thus turning masses of people into "refugees"? Questions such as : how will the US govrenment handle multinationals misbehaviours overseas ? Questions such as : international trades agreements. what other type of non-wanted international trade agreements the US want to impose on other countries?
The bar was set low for Trump, and his stage presence probably carried the day with most viewers. Hillary no doubt has more depth on many of the issues, but it is hard to convey that in two minute stints. I wish she would have addressed his point about the national debt and how she plans to handle it when interest rates rise. The New York Times is Wall Street's newspaper, and seems to be pulling out all the stops against Trump. I suspect the main concern is his economic proposals.
He did rebut most of Clinton's statements, except that most all fact checkers agree that a lot of what Trump stated and claimed to be facts were false or at the very least incorrect. That the US lost many jobs to Mexico was one of the very few accurate statements he made. Regarding issues he was not asked but himself wanted to explore, did we not hear him spend half of his allotted time on such issues? And how could Trump possibly defend himself given that almost all the figures Clinton cited in regards to Trump's past track record were absolutely accurate? His few tax records showing he never paid federal income taxes, his birther lies years after the proof had already been brought to light that Obama is in fact born in the US, proof that Trump did support the Iraq war, and the list goes on...all those statements and numbers brought about by Clinton have been independently fact checked and shown to be accurate. Hard to debate or deny that. Unless of course Trump wanted to look stupid, which he obviously did when he again denied to ever have supported the Iraq invasion.
I laud you for this honest assessment. There are two more debates coming up, I expect Trump to shift into higher gear then. It shall be interesting.
well, if Trump get the punch and energy he needs from a bit of "coke", the debate for sure will be very energetic, full of punch, full of bravado. Since the cocain use thing, Trump has actually earned many people's sympathies, as now some people say "they can understand him".
Jem, I was willing to give him a chance to get his act together, hoping that he'd display some maturity and move away from his playground-bully crap. But he is just more of the same. Take him away from a teleprompter, and he reverts to his true self. I don't have so much concern about him in the White House for domestic policy. Fortunately our constitution provides some checks and balances. And if we survived Bush (barely), we could probably survive Trump. But the issue I cannot get around, and millions or others share my concern, is that he would be commander-in-chief. See, I grew up in the military as the son of a bomber pilot. And I myself served time on an aircraft carrier chasing Russian subs. The strength and power of our military is beyond description. We can't permit that to come under the control of a personality like Trump. He is too quick to anger and to attack his adversaries. He does not show good judgement under pressure. So that is the single - and most important - strike against him. All other considerations take second place. For me, if at this point it was a vote for Trump or a fire hydrant, I'd vote for the fire hydrant. I'd feel a lot safer.
