I can check gravity with a rock no need to jump.

Are you saying that government did not do a single good thing in past 100 years, and that every program they started is a complete failure?

  2. Read it and weep. As Sgt. Friday used to say, just the facts ma'am. Well the facts are ugly as hell.

The bottom line: Obamacare makes insurance less affordable

For months, we’ve heard about how Obamacare’s trillions in health care subsidies were going to save America from rate shock. It’s not true. If you shop for coverage on your own, you’re likely to see your rates go up, even after accounting for the impact of pre-existing conditions, even after accounting for the impact of subsidies.

The Obama administration knows this, which is why its 15-page report makes no mention of premiums for insurance available on today’s market. Silence, they say, speaks louder than words. HHS’ silence on the difference between Obamacare’s insurance premiums and those available today tell you everything you need to know. Rates are going higher. And if you’re healthy, or you’re young, the Obama administration expects you to do your duty and pay up.

My question is, how many barrels or tar do we need, and how many pounds of feathers do we need at this point?

You consider a new behemoth bureaucracy a "test"?

I actually used the word "almost" everything. Not all are "complete" failures of course, but most are varying degrees of failures.

Let's come back to this thread in at least 1 year. Let's see how the new system works. I do expect some bugs and misquotes in the beginning, all will probably be straighten out within 6 months.

GOP has a lot riding on its failure. Should it succeed, this and rift within party will toast them.

If it fails, 2016 GOP will capture white house.

The "affordable care act" cannot possibly succeed in lowering health care costs. It is an impossibility. It will cover more people and more things, like abortion and every other thing on liberal wish lists, and that makes it not virtually impossible, but just plain impossible, to succeed. Of course the media will forget all about that, and they'll keep taking polls until they find ones they like, that shows the law to be popular, and then based on that, it will be hailed as a success. And if they can't even jimmy up a poll to prove it, they'll just get an academic or the world health organization to put together a study to show the US health care system is now better.

We know how the game is played, duke.

  8. When, not if it blows up, they'll just find a way to blame it on republicans. The sheeple will eat it up and dems will win in 2016 easily. I predict a dem president in 2016 regardless of what happens on this, or any other issue. Just too many kool-aid drinkers, and the repubs are for shit as an alternative anyway. Third party has no real chance in this two party dictatorship. Yeah, I'm that pessimistic. Been around too long, seen too much, and most importantly I know how it used to be when things actually worked to some degree. We're so far from that we ain't ever going back. It's almost every man for himself time. Keep your powder dry and your options plentiful.

I believe Cruz, Lee, and a few others will be remembered for standing against it. Agree about the pubs, though. Perhaps Cruz should lead a 3rd party effort. He can count me in. As Cruz stated yesterday, the majority of old guard Republicans are defeatists. They've given up and don't think some big fights are winnable. They need to go. I've never, ever heard such complaints regarding the left giving up.

And fuck all the pubs who are now attacking Cruz with more venom than they ever have against the left.

  10. Without another party like the Libertarians or some version of "Constitutionalists", America is being herded further into Socialism of some sort.

America became a great country and economic powerhouse when our Federal government was still SMALL.
