It's an interesting tool to stretch the imagination and expand one's trading possibilities ... I'll use the concept it in my trading as I've described here and let you know how it works out. No meaness, no flames, just an interesting exercise designed to stretch the trader's imagination to take them out of the realm of the impossible to that of improbable and on to the possible. Later, JJ
JJ I agree with your concept... but I'm talking about the "cult quality" people who need to believe Jack can do it and who patronize him hoping he'll show them the way.
Someone in the know sent me this funny story about Spydertrader: "I don't know about Jack, but Spydertrader showed up at market surfer's toney, eastside party last year (to celebrate the NY Expo) looking like a blue collar worker. Everyone had to look away while the hostesss took him back to the coat check room (at first I thought they kicked him out) to get decent dress shoes for him ... because it was not the kind of place that would allow him in with the shoes that he had on"
Check the time stamps of Jack's posts for the last 2 weeks.. every major move that took place in the market saw Jack drafting and posting a page long rant as it was taking place He doesn't trade!
First of all, to be clear with you, I do not know anything about JH methods other than hearing that its basically old trading concepts fancied up with a different name. Also, I obviously don't about any ones claims of profitability because I'm not posting 5 - 10 times per day here at ET in attacking nor defending whatever is said by Jack & Gang or by the Anti-Jack Eyesores. Further, I'm going to let you continue playing in the mud with Jack and I'll respond to your latter question in a different way because I wanted someone serious about trading in this thread to respond to my prior question. I may or may not apologize later for my above sarcasm depending upon further developments in this thread. With that said, I've been in the markets since the 80's along with personally knowing some traders that have made ridiculous amounts of money that correlated with what I've seen in their trading accounts. Here's what I've seen with my own two eyes amongst institution trading pals and retail trading pals along with seeing account records: * 500k to 4million in one day * 25k to 2million in 9 months * Always in the market for 5 years as a swing trader * 7xATR for 3 consecutive trading days * 200k to 14k in one trading day * 1million to 175k in one trading day All the above occurred via traders that traded futures and with size. Now...lets revisit my question again. Wouldn't someone that trades 20 - 50 contracts have a different opinion about how much they can achieve via ATR analogies in comparison to someone that only trades 1 - 3 contracts. I'm just curious about the Poll here by the OP considering how position size should have impact on the poll results. Lets change the above question a little. For those in this thread that are profitable... Lets pretend you suddenly had the account size to trade 20 - 50 ES contracts without violating your money management rules. Based upon your prior profitability level involving a few contracts... Hypothetically, can you achieve profits greater than the ATR when you go to 20 - 50 ES contracts for one trading day??? However, realistically, based upon your actual performance level on small size position... Do you think you can maintain that same profit level when jumping to 20 - 50 contracts day after day after day??? Ok girls and boys, be serious about trading for a few minutues and put aside your mud throwing battles to answer the above questions I've asked. Good luck to trading to all today. P.S. If your not a profitable trader...don't respond especially two particular traders (anti-jack folks) that are on record at ET for stating they are not profitable. Mark
I'll never forget the time a few years ago that I found Jack on a thread of mine. I decided to respond in his language. I wrote a bunch of nonsensical words, phrases and threw in a few Gaussians, and voila! He replied positively. I couldn't stop laughing.
