The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 166 points today, its largest one-day fall in 5 months. How long do you think it will be before the Dow is back at a new 3-year high again?

  2. i don't know if anybody thinks it is significant that the oil stocks did not participate in the sell-off. i would be more confident this correct is for real if they dumped as well.

  3. There should be a quick recovery next week (I see Netflix did nicely on earnings) and then the real correction will begin, lasting just long enough to squeeze the longs, and then of course doing what it has to do: reversing to squeeze the shorts, at which point the highs from this week will be taken out.
    I voted 1 to 2 months.

  4. look at Jan and Nov 2010 corrections: once the market started to slide there was not a real bounce until ~bottom of the correction was reached. so fasten your seat belts!
