Faith 10 inspirational verses from the Holy Quran to give you hope The Holy Quran remains the sole source of authentic authority for Muslims, and the miracles and inspiration that come from its holy words are endless and boundless. In the spirit of holding steadfast to hope and empowerment, here are 10 of some of the most inspiring verses from the Holy Quran: 1) “And Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness” [Quran 8:33] 2) “He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to Him is the [final] destination” [Quran 64:3] 3) “And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent” [Quran 65:3] 4) “My mercy encompasses all things” [Quran 7:156] 5) “The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters” [Quran 3:60] 6) “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear” [Quran 2:286] 7) “So verily, with the hardship, there is relief. Verily, with the hardship, there is relief” [Quran 94:5-6] 8) “Do what is beautiful. Allah loves those who do what is beautiful” [Quran 2:195] 9) “The people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds. So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it” [Quran 99:6-7] 10) “Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful'” [Quran 39:53] See, I can quote religious stuff as well. The Allah book, the holy Quran, also written by God so they say, prolly good idea to worship Allah as they also have miracles and prophesies.
@themickey Interestingly, it would seem that originally the Bible was accepted as genuine by the earliest Muslims. https://bibleinterp.arizona.edu/articles/early-muslims-and-bible Why have Muslims written about or drawn on the Bible during every century of Islam? Two points help to shed light on this. First, if it is assumed that when Islam emerged in the 1st/7th century it was to supplant Judaism and Christianity, this engagement with the Bible might seem puzzling at first sight. However, the Qur’an regularly presents itself as confirming, not altering, the original revelation of these faiths, for example when describing revelation to Muhammad as ‘the truth confirming what is with them’ [here, the Jews] (Q2:91).[1] Most prominent among these original revelations are what God sent down to Moses, the Torah (Tawrāt in Arabic), and to Jesus, the Gospel (Injīl, singular). So in the Qur’anic perspective God sent down an original, pristine version of the scriptures of Jews and Christians, but Muslim writers differ widely over how far the extant scriptures of these faiths preserve that original revelation. Also: https://www.bible.ca/islam/islam-bible-not-corrupted-early-muslims.htm The Quran declares the Bible to be a true revelation of God and demands faith in the Bible. Sura 2:40-42,126,136,285; 3:3,71,93; 4:47,136; 5:47-51, 69,71-72; 6:91; 10:37,94; 21:7; 29:45,46; 35:31; 46:11 All these above texts presuppose the availability of the true revelation of God to the people of Muhammad's day. Sura 3:71,93; 10:94; 21:71 A true Muslim is obliged to believe in all the revelations of God. Sura 2:136; 4:136; 29:46 The Quran makes no distinction between God's revelations Sura 2:136 The Qur'an claims that NO ONE can change the Word of God. Sura 6:34; 10:34 Why Do Muslims Believe The Bible Is Corrupted? In 1064, Ibn-Khazem, FIRST charged that the Bible had been corrupted and the Bible falsified. This charge was to defend Islam against Christianity because Ibn-Khazem come upon differences and contradiction between the Bible and the Quran. Believing, by faith that the Quran was true, the Bible must then be false. He said, "Since the Quran must be true it must be the conflicting Gospel texts that are false. But Muhammad tells us to respect the Gospel. Therefore, the present text must have been falsified by the Christians after the time of Muhammad." His argument was not based on any evidence or historical facts but only on his personal faith, reasoning and desire to safeguard the Quran. This led him to teach that, "The Christians lost the revealed Gospel except for a few traces which God has left intact as argument against them." Many great MUSLIM teachers DO NOT believe the Bible has been corrupted and ACCEPT the authenticity of our PRESENT New Testament texts. Ali al-Tabari (died 855) accepted the Gospel texts Amr al-Ghakhiz (869) " " " " BUKHARI (810-870) " " " " (he gathered some of the earliest tradition of Islam quoted the Quran itself to support his belief in the text of the Bible Sura 3:72,78) Al-Mas'udi (956) " " " " Abu Ali Husain Bin Sina (1037)" " " AL-GHAZZALI (1111) " " " " (probably the greatest Muslim scholar he lived after Ibn-Khazem but did not accept his teachings) Ibn-Khaldun (1406) " " " " " " (he lived after Ibn-Khazem but did not accept his teachings but rather believed the earlier Islamic teachers.) Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan, founder of the Aligarh College "In the opinion of us Mohammedans it is not proved that corruption (tahrif-i-lafzi)...was practiced." Fakhruddin Razi, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, a nephew of Muhammed, "The Jews and early Christians were suspected of altering the text of the Taurat and Injil; but in the opinion of eminent doctors and theologians it was not practicable thus to corrupt the text, because those Scriptures were generally known and widely circulated, having been handed down from generation to generation."
When I'm looking for truth in the political arena I only consult Fox News and GOP, Trump, Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson and anyone on the far right. Included in this lot are the evangelicals and NRA. If I want to know the truth and nothing but the truth about God, I only consult the bible and the opinions from christian organizations. It only makes sense, right?
https://www.icr.org/article/why-does-nearly-every-culture-have-tradition-globa Just as the original story of the worldwide flood became corrupted, yet ended up in nearly every culture in forms that sound like kids playing the game "telephone," the knowledge of God that our early ancestors had has become corrupted when handed down from those who did not know God so that there are a variety of false beliefs. There is only one true God and He has revealed Himself to us through the Bible. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself a ransom for all... 1 Tim 2:5, 6 The evidence for the reliability AND uniqueness of the Bible is overwhelming, especially when compared to other religions! Why should anyone trust in Christianity over Islam, Buddhism, Mormonism, or anything else? It is because there are absolute truths. Only in Christianity are there accurately fulfilled prophecies of a coming Messiah. Only in Christianity do we have the extremely accurate transmission of the eyewitness documents (gospels). So, we can trust what was originally written. Only in Christianity do we have the person of Christ who claimed to be God, performed many miracles to prove His claim of divinity, who died and rose from the dead, and who said that He alone was the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). All this adds to the legitimacy and credibility of Christianity above all other religions – all based on the person of Jesus. It could not be that Jesus is the only Truth, and other religions also are the truth. Either Jesus is true, and all other religions are false, or other religions are true, and Jesus is false. There are no other options. I choose to follow the risen Lord Jesus. https://carm.org/atheism/why-believe-in-christianity-over-all-other-religions/ This next article is long. Here is just an excerpt: https://bible.org/seriespage/lesson-1-bible-s-uniqueness The Bible Is Unique In Its Creation The Bible has two authors: the first is God and the second is humans. In fact, God himself began writing the Bible. God wrote the Ten Commandments with his own hand. 1 [paste:font size="5"]2 The Bible was written during seasons of war, peace, famine, and prosperity. No other book, including religious texts, took such a long time to complete. [paste:font size="5"]3 If they were writing God’s name, they could not use a newly dipped pen, lest they botch it. If a king entered the room or addressed them, they had to finish writing God’s name first. They maintained strict discipline in counting paragraphs, words, and letters to make sure that each page was the same and that they hadn’t made a mistake.4 Because of their painstaking diligence, thousands of Old Testament manuscripts, copied with tremendous accuracy, have been preserved over time. Likewise, Christian scribes meticulously copied the New Testament as well, striving to guard it from error. We have more ancient New Testament manuscripts than Old Testament manuscripts. The Bible is unique in its preservation. [paste:font size="5"]5 Dr. Richard Andree, a German scholar, collected eighty-eight ancient flood stories.6 Dr. Duane Gish, in his book Dinosaurs by Design, says there are more than 270 flood stories.7 Forty-six are from Central and South America, fifty-nine from North America, thirty-one from Europe, seventeen from the Middle East, twenty-three from Asia, and thirty-seven from the South Sea Islands, New Zealand and Australia, among others.8 In addition, where many previously scoffed at the possibility of all languages originating from one language, as taught in the Tower of Babel story, many experts now believe all languages can be traced to a common origin. Similarly, others criticize Scripture by contending that its many inconsistencies and contradictions are actually errors. However, many of these “contradictions” are simply the results of people reporting the same event or doctrine from different angles. Other purported contradictions can be explained by understanding the relevant historical background and by comparing Scripture with Scripture. In comparing Scripture with Scripture, for example, 9 In addition, Nelson Glueck, the renowned Jewish archaeologist, wrote that, “It maybe stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference.”10 The Bible is unique in its survival of criticism. It continues to prove itself true scientifically, historically, doctrinally, and in many other ways, thwarting even the harshest attacks.
Somehow weirdly, the byproduct of christian teaching is an occupational hazard of pedophiles and abuse. Wonder why.
Another thing, the ministry has lots of gays/homosexuals, the very thing the bible abhors. But as mentioned previously, christianity and being honest with yourself are not things that go together, hypocrisy is common due to the fact being yourself is frowned upon in christianity, one is forced to conform to strict doctrine rules. Christianity breeds hypocrisy.
That's why you NEED JESUS! Jesus "delivers us from the wrath to come!" 1 Thess 1:10 Those who have Jesus have no need to fear: Psalm 91 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Footnotes
