  1. Hypothetically speaking, because it would be laughably and pathetically too obvious for you not to even have had an equity dip while your clients' accounts were simultaneously hemorrhaging? Stagecraft? A maneuver to provide barely plausible deniability for the investigation that would surely follow (and did)?

Just curious. Why do you think the NFA felt compelled to to warn potential clients of the markedly incongruous performance between your personal account and that of your managed clients?

  2. What happened to the screen shots of your Alaron trading account on your website ? (to prove that you traded "size")

You don't need to send any screen shots privately, put them on your website publicly for all to see, like you did or are you scared to do this ?

  6. the NFA often negotiates down fines--- have you considered that this could be the case here?

regardless, LW was fined for questionable marketing, not for security fraud or any such thing..... he paid the fine, changed his marketing and moved on.

furthermore, no other charges have been drummed up since, over 20 years, of being dead center in the spotlight.

you guys are sounding very foolish and full of schadenfreude .

    sad. really.

  8. You are at least a funny liar...

Here, one more little lie for the road :

This was on LW's website om march 2006 :

"Larry Williams has taught thousands to correctly trade the markets, WON MANY TRADING CHAMPIONSHIPS, and has been the only futures trader in the world to repeatedly trade $1 million of his own money live at seminars around the globe."

Please, a link to the other contest...

1Well, judging from the number of posts here, this is obviously a hot topic.

OK, let me give you my input. I probably know Larry a lot better than most or maybe all of the people posting here. I lived in San Diego for about 30 years and he moved into the area in the mid 80's. (I might still be there if it weren't for the moronic mentality of the CA voters, but that's another topic for another thread)

There were times when I would drop by his office unannounced and when I got there, he was pretty busy checking out the markets with a lot of computer screens showing charts and other data. If he wasn't trading as some of you claim, he sure went to an awful lot of trouble and expense for nothing.

Sure, I know he made some good money from his seminars. So what? Ever heard of capitalism? If you have a problem with him making money from his seminars, you should probably not be trying to trade because you obviously have some underlying issues with making money. Randy Couture is a UFC champion fighter, but he's now making money on the side by doing movies. Does anyone have a problem with that?

Regarding the seminar material that he presents. I know for sure that some of it was well researched because I gave it to him, and he always gave me credit for it. (Not that getting credit was all that important to me)

But if you really want to make a judgement call about Larry, maybe you should do a little more research beyond what you read on blog sites. For example, San Diego has what is now a world class marathon every year - the Rock and Roll Marathon. Guess who was the original promoter for the event?

And if you really want to get an idea of what a person is like, a good indication is how his children have been raised. All of you probably know about Michelle, but he has another daughter and a son. I've met both of them and they are smart, well-mannered and very personable people. Not exactly the kind of kids you'd expect if they were raised by a con artist.

Also, to answer the question before anyone asks, no Larry didn't put me up to write this. He just sent me the link to the thread and said to vote. He didn't even tell me which way to vote. However, after reading some of the posts here, I thought maybe some of you might want some input that comes from a more personal perspective rather than what is gleaned from blog posts and newspaper articles.
