Any detail should come from the police department at much lower cost. And these politicians must provide all details of the supposed threats in a police report so they can be properly addressed. I very much doubt that there are any threats - since they have provided no evidence of their claims.

Agree it is a bit hypocritical to criticize police but then use private security ... at tax payers expense.

But after all don't right wingnuts espouse privatizing prisons (Corrections Corp of America etc) and even the armed services (Blackwater etc)?

Hey police are unionized. Its a win/win for nuts. No? o_O

    :p

At least private security only has 1 job.

Completely unlike that of a police officer. The question says it all - "you were being disrespectful because you were on your phone" - blah blee freaking blah. Tards have FEELS and FEELS are THE most important thing in life!

    Wow 80%, 80%, 80%

Didn't know the numbers are that EXACT.

Also guess there wasn't "a good guy with a gun" to protect the little boy that was killed ... 4 months ago.

  7. "Heavy police presence reported" at Walmart shooting in California.

    Six people shot.

What the hell are they bothering the defunded police for? That's retro. Soooooooooo yesterday. Send in your mobile kumbaya swat team which I guess is supposed to consist of social workers and craniosacral massage therapists mounted on unicorns and armed to the hilt with essential oils.

  9. Private security, this will be the next new thing on a much larger scale than we currently see. It won't just be for individuals. Many communities, gated types and upscale neighborhoods will be hiring private security services to patrol and protect. The police, if doing anything at all will be tied up in the hood with the escalating violence there.

Yes... I agree with you. If cities move forward with "defunding the police" then private security will be on a hiring spree. Most upscale (or even mid-scale) sub-divisions will be hiring armed private security firms for their neighborhoods. Many retails malls will also hire armed private security. All the former police officers will find jobs in these firms providing protection.

The downtown core of these "defund the police" cities will be left as the equivalent of Mad Max imagery.
