Political Music

  1. I have decided to start, and maintain a thread of music just for here in the basement, 2nd level.

As all of you know, I think the GOP has gone mad. I will be posting music here to allow for my thoughts.

You know all black folks like music right:D :D

First song, Wild Goose Chase, by Steel Pulse. Any by the way, feel free to post your own political songs, even if it's from Prussian Blue. It's all part of the record. Maybe, after we are all gone, they will find this thread and say, this is where they were before they blew themselves up.:D :(

Funny that this group, knew that one day, we would be talking about contraception, some 20 years after they published it.

  2. Great song about our nation......

he's gay....so if you're afraid of "the gay" click past it so you won't catch it. :D

  3. Now get yourself a song to sing and sing it 'til you're done
Yeah, sing it hard and sing it well
Send the robber barons straight to hell
The greedy thieves who came around
And ate the flesh of everything they've found
Whose crimes have gone unpunished now
Walk the streets as free men now

And they brought death to our hometown, boys

    Check it out
    Goin' to work on Monday
    Check it out
    Got yourself a family
    Check it out
All utility bills have been paid
You can't tell your best buddy that you love him
    So check it out
    Where does our time go
    Check it out
Got a brand new house in escrow
    Check it out
Sleepin' with your back to your loved one
This is all that we've learned about happiness

  8. The above song might a little specific to the Midwest, but I think you guys get it anyways.

  9. Freethinker, this one is especially for you....a relentless crusader against indoctrination. I am sure you have heard this before.....hear it again.

There are those who think that life is nothing left to chance,
A host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance.

    A planet of playthings,
    We dance on the strings
    Of powers we cannot perceive.
    "The stars aren't aligned
    Or the gods are malign"-
Blame is better to give than receive.

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
    You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill;
    I will choose a path that's clear-
    I will choose Free Will.
    [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/rush/freewill_20119963.html ]
There are those who think that they were dealt a losing hand,
The cards were stacked against them- they weren't born in lotus-land.

    All preordained-
    A prisoner in chains-
    A victim of venomous fate.
    Kicked in the face,
You can't pray for a place
    In heaven's unearthly estate.

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
    You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill;
    I will choose a path that's clear-
    I will choose Free Will.

    Each of us-
    A cell of awareness-
    Imperfect and incomplete.
    Genetic blends
    With uncertain ends
On a fortune hunt that's far too fleet.
